So I usually take my phone in the shower to listen to music. While showering today the music suddenly died out, I thought my playlist had ended but turned out I got a lot of water on the phone which clogged the speakers and barely any sound was coming out. I was able to get out most of it but the sound is still a bit muffled :(

Have you ruined your cellphone before? Or any other devices like a tablet, laptop, ds, etc.

you did take your phone into the shower after all
I left my ds lite on a plane once. my mum threw my phone at the wall and consequently, I had to get a new one.
my laptop just didn't work one day. I stuck build-a-bear stickers on it so i'm assuming it was a permanent protest against my tacky decoration style.

Omg that is the worst D:
My sister once dropped my other sisters tablet and it broke, lol
I luckily have never had any problems with my devices *touch wood*

/le me whos never even had a phone
I hear putting your phone in a bag of rice for 24 hours helps get the water out. Then again, it may not. Worth a shot!

...You take your phone actually in the shower?

I'm more impressed that the phone has lasted this long if you take it in the shower with you.

I bet it's a Nokia 3310. It's the only phone that would realistically survive a shower.

Oh um it's like, I have a glass shelf inside the shower cubicle where I keep my phone, I don't actually use it. When I do, it's mostly to check my texts or something and I turn off the shower then/keep it away from the water.

Ah yes, 10/10 with rice. I'll give it a shot!

Sorry for your loss of your phones sound, but if you chuck it in a bowl a rice for 3 weeks it should be fine and dandy

My mom threw water on my brother's computer and then later he brought his computer out when it was freezing outside. Some letters on his keyboard melted and it's a lot slower now.

glad i'm not the only who brings the phone into the shower for music. my phone spoiled though, not because from the shower but because i dropped it lol

worst thing i ever did to my phone was dropping it upside down on gravel. the screen cracked, but nothing else broke.

my last phone jsut stopped working one day, i don't think i really did anything to make it die though.... it was just dead lmao

I don't really use my phone all that much anyway but, my last phone went all weird whilst I was on holiday. The battery literally inflated? Like, I couldn't keep the case properly on it, and the battery would burn out within like minutes, even if I charged it for ages. It was pressing against the screen so it left a mark on it. My mum got a new phone when we came back from our holiday and she gave me the battery to her old phone which solved the issue, but still, it was really weird. People said it could have been because of water damage, but I didn't take my phone near the pool, nor did I spill anything on it. It might have been because the sudden change in heat... Since it was quite hot out there. So idk. Anyway apparently some of the chemicals could have leaked out of the battery so I'm glad I managed to sort that out before anything bad happened. Now my phone just gets slow and freezes a bit more and it's just a pain but I'll probably get a new one in New Year. I've never cracked my phone screen, either. :)

That's pretty dangerous to have it that close to the shower. Even if it's not getting wet directly from the shower water, hot water does cause steam which is water...

Reading this thread on my phone in the bathtub. Not that dropping it would be much of a loss - its battery needs charged three times a day; water damage (from Coke) on upper left of screen but not too noticeable; button is stuck and sometimes doesn't respond; apps crash; sometimes just drops from 20% battery to zero in less than a minute; wifi drops a lot; the list goes on...

Last month i was using a small af extension and there was connected my TV, Wii u and the gamepad charger...
Idek what happened that i pulled the gamepad charger and just like that the tv fell to the floor (since it was in a high position)
Atleast it lasted since 2010...

I've never cracked my phone screen, either. :)

I have, dropped it in a bathroom once (i'm a big fail tbh) and when I grabbed it, I found later that day that it had cracks on the edges of the screen, and one rather small (quite unnoticeable, but not bad) one leading from those cracks.. to be honest though, not sure if that one is a scratch or a crack.

Oh, just remembered. I did ruin my laptop screen once ages ago (a couple years, with a different laptop). I had it resting on the arm of my chair (very clever lmao) and it fell off, the screen cracked quite badly.

I used to bring my phone into the bathroom to listen to music while I shower & I sat it on the counter.

Steam is not kind to phones, let me just tell you. ):
