• Good evening, everyone! We have an egg hunt announcement! An additional clue for egg #21 will be posted Monday at 6 PM EDT if it hasn't been found by then. The egg hunt will also be extended until Tuesday morning at 10 AM EDT.

RIP Phone

aw that's a major mega bummer, sorry about your phone, aerate. i've broken some things, but i'm just really uncoordinated. back when i was like a teen i broke a phone running over it with my wheelchair. you'd think a girl would think to stop when she's mowing down what's obviously not a flat surface... well umm no, not me. crushed.

then there's the time i was using the incredibly-cursed-headphones-i-payed-too-much-for, cord gets casually in my wheel (i use power because i can't manually push one so, we're talking a pretty strong movement speed because i'm impatient). i drive forward, and it slings them from my skull against the desk. definitely reduced longevity for sure...

i wish i had some super tech knowledge and water damage experience to help your situation though!

When the iPhone 5 came out, my stepsister bought it...then smashed in the car door a day later....

She managed to get a replacement, but she left it in KFC. xD

If I damage something it usually happens right after I get it. A few days after I got an iPhone I dropped it and cracked the screen. This year I got a laptop and about a month later I dropped it and the side cracked and now the headphone jack doesn't work properly. ; w;

Other than that I haven't damaged any of my electronics and I've had quite a few..

Oh um it's like, I have a glass shelf inside the shower cubicle where I keep my phone, I don't actually use it. When I do, it's mostly to check my texts or something and I turn off the shower then/keep it away from the water.

Ah yes, 10/10 with rice. I'll give it a shot!

Eh, even that wouldn't do much. I sometimes have my phone on the counter when I shower and the moisture in the room is bad for it.

I take good care of my devices. Money doesn't grow on trees :P

It does in Animal Crossing but then again real life isnt animal crossing.

Anyway on topic, when i was little I used to have a ipod and when it got diry i used to dump it in water and clean it.

It lasted a few years surprisingly

ohhH yeah that's right. I didn't know there were different words for that in English : o

I didnt either and its my native language. we just call it steam whether it "truly" is or not

I used to take my phone into the shower but in a plastic zip-loc bag. I've never broken my own phone but I did break my mom's maybe 6 years ago. I smashed it with a golf club because a fake porn ad thing came up and froze the phone lmfao. I broke one of our old laptops once by stepping on it in the car.....my parents still dont know who did it lol

oh well it wasn't a smart phone or anything, but I was at my friends house once and she had cereal... and she didn't finish it so there was still milk left over and she was too lazy to put her dish away so she left it ever-so-inconveniently right next to the side of the bed where I slept...

pulling your phone out of milk isn't the best way to start your morning :///

i would have gone through like twenty phones by now if i didnt have any cases on them. i have tons of unusable phone cases just in a box bc so much of it has been chipped off that they dont even qualify as a case anymore. i should probably just throw them out, but most of them are really cute and unique so ill probably just use them as emergency cases or something

i do the same thing, listening to music while in the shower. i put my phone in a zip bloc bag to prevent water from getting in it and im still able to navigate over the bag. surprisingly, ive never damaged my phone so badly to the point where i needed to buy a new one. despite having the same phone for roughly three years or so, i have little to no scratches on mine. god bless the hundreds of phone cases that protected my baby

I accidentally washed my first iPhone. Went to do some laundry and took my pants off and forgot about my phone in the pocket and didn't notice until I went to put my clothes in the dryer. It was a sad day. Rice could not save that poor phone. Now my phone is broken on the front screen on the top. i am very accident prone and that goes to my electronics.

Ah that's okay! My phone's perfectly fine now, the water ended up coming out on its own overnight, it's better than ever. Thanks for worrying though! Ugh sorry about the phone though, well at least it was a long time ago and you can laugh about it, haha.

You know this is why I hate wired headphones.. the cord keeps getting in the way it pisses me off. You should get wireless ones if you haven't already c:

Lel, when I used to take my phone in the shower I would put it in a plastic zip bag to prevent that from happening, do the same when I take a bath just in case I get clumsy. Does your headphone jack still work? The closest to "ruining" a phone I put a damn towel over my phone and the little sticker for water damage turned orange so I thought I damaged it or something or that I would never be able to trade it in and stuff, but literally no damage happened at all, those stickers are just really sensitive I guess.

I treat my devices better than I treat other people. My stuff ends up lasting years and years, and gets passed on to other members of the family when they're in need of a like-new device. For example, I had my laptop for 6 years. When I upgraded two years ago, I was able to give my laptop to my sister, because it still worked perfectly. It just has a crap battery and can't be unplugged. I tried putting a new battery in it, but it still dies within 5 minutes of being unplugged.

My phones all last years without getting cracked, I'm still using my gamecube and ps2, and my parents bought my TV in 1984, which is 10 years before I was born. It still works. We're all a bit paranoid about our electronics, because we can never afford to replace them.

Yep, my dad had a beer can that exploded all over his phone. Also, rice is good.

STOP TEXTING PEOPLE IN THE SHOWER XD

Shame on you *smh* what would make you think that's a good idea xD you're not supposed to take your phone in the shower just leave it on the sink or something .-.
