Review the Dream Town above you!

I'll be honest with you, I post here more for a review of my own city rather than to play tourists on other towns. %)

That being said, I dove in the village of Nowhere. Very intriguing. I don't consider the town as a a horror themed town, it's not this creepy, but somehow it's more enigmatic and suspicious.
The bad thing is... that I don't particularly like the theme. In general, I'm not a fan of these kind of mysterious town and I rather prefer towns in which nature is very present (and your town has not much trees and flowers, even though I know it's because of the theme you choose) but I can only acknowledge that your city as its unique and specific atmosphere that I began to appreciate at a specific time. In your city, in particular, time seems to have stopped... completely. It was like I was in another dimension, experiencing a neutral-bad dream. I was really in the town of "nowhere" and it suits the town perfectly. When I visited the village and especially these houses, I imagined myself visiting a contemporary art exhibition with a semi-horror theme.
It's by seeing the whole as an exhibition that I started to appreciate. It made me reflect on some points. I started to think about your intentions, what were the kind of story you wanted me to see, for exemple.
I could not tell you exactly what I liked the least and what I liked the most because I was more affected by the overall ambiance of your village, which is a very good point. I think it's clever.
A little (mad) scientist said me in the 3rd house I visited (the one in the east) "Times works differently here" and that's totally what I felt. His bedroom left me somehow uncomfortable. I lay on the bed, I moved the viewing angle of the camera toward the dark black output... I liked. It was scary. The room was very small and minimalist, but it was filled with mood.

Before I visited, I mixed the two sets of clothes you counseled me to put, to see what it would do. : )
But well, I probably should not.

I left the neutral-bad dream rather confused. I didn't understand everything, at this contemporary exhibition, but hey, most of the contemporary exhibitions are like that (especially in France). But since it has not left me indifferent I think it's good.

Here is my dream address : 7800 - 5042 - 4070
I just created this address today and the town is not totally done yet.

I'm gonna snag this spot, but I won't be able to review until this evening, sorry. :c

[EDIT]

Sorry for the wait! The town of Gorde, the town in which I'm reviewing today!

My first observation with your town is the grey path. Even though it's grey, it really stands out because of the vastness of it! I do recommend sacrificing a little bit of the tile to lay down clothes for your dreamers. Wandering around in my pajamas really alienates me from the full 'townie' experience.

That being said, the pathway in front of the tree leads me to these gorgeous corner bushes. I really love the white and blue roses contrasting each other. It really goes with the snow! Going left, I would like to compliment you on your placement of the lighthouse! It's kind of hard to get it by the beach unless you plan well in advance. Going right, I love the little hidden pathway in the trees that leads to the stone tablet. It blends right in with the roses! [ I noticed a bit later that the tablet leads to another stone sculpture. Love the continuity! ]

After going north of the tree and to the left path, I'd just like to say that I love the emphasis on the fountain up there! This town has a very industrial feel to it, and it must have taken lots of planning!

I went inside Erwin house( I looked at the map and SNK characters are amaaaaazinggg). Obviously, you aren't done. One thing you can do with your alts, however, is give them a message to say.

I really like the dual fountain action in front of the train station, as well!

Major Zoe's house has quite lovely decorations. It's more elaborate than Erwin's house, and it's quite lovely. I CANNOT wait to see the finished houses, additionally.

The Spa area is very well tied together with the green and the bamboo. Nice job with placement

The villagers houses are quite crowded, but I suppose that's just how the town works and really fits with the industrial, city feeling of it.

Lance Corporal Levi. The area around his house is GORGEOUS. Your bush work is impressive, and I really like the how the black roses match Levi's personality. (I guess???? Still, it looks cool!)

All in all, it's a lovely town that was definitely worth a visit. PM me if you need help getting the houses together. I look forward to seeing them finished!

Cheers!

Review

I first took notice of the red-and-white bricks of tile paths. They are sugary and delightful. I feel, had I learned how to use the QR system, that they would may have been right for my first town, Applewin.

I also notice, and I'm writing this review while I'm visiting, that your town has lots of Normals. Reason to do that, I think, is if one has built up his town enough that there is no longer of point of worrying about balancing out the eight Villager Personalities present in one's town for a given period. So, clearly, these individual Normal villagers are ones you must have wanted. And I understand that. (In my brand-new town, ACNLpics, I deliberately chose octopus Marina to rep the Normals and, because I chose a bonus Normal, I also selected the rhinoceros Merengue. They're great!)

Royall has a Fairy-Tale theme (Train Station and Town Hall) in which, as I'm navigating it, I'm finding repeated use of the colors of pinks and whites, and they are even present in the villagers (the Normal hamster Flurry; the Peppy ostrich Flora). It tells me you had a vision in mind where you can project a sweet innocence combining the two eternally fresh hues (though some don't consider white technically as a color) for most of what one sees. (Thank goodness there's room for non-pinks and -whites; the Smug horse/unicorn Julian as an example!) Given the town date, one sees the pink leaves on non-fruit trees. (A fantastic time of the year!) Your pink-and-white theme includes flowers immediately seen when awakening. You have pink tulips wrapped around the Windmill. You have pink and white carnations around bushes which surround some trees. You have pink lilies aligning the rims of the northern half of your town. That is, they are along the edge of your land which also, of course, ends up allowing one to cross from the northern to southern half of your town while appreciating them in one's view. You have done a meticulous job with arranging these. It's incredible!

As I'm checking out the wrapped items, left by you in the Plaza area (and in other areas of Royall), I notice you gave us options: clothing for a male or a female visitor. (I'm using Nick, a non-mayor, from my first town of Applewin.) This was very considerate and intelligent. I salute you for doing that too.

In the opening post of this thread, it was mentioned that we should offer a suggestion for improvements worthy of the town we end up reviewing. Thing is, in "Animal Crossing: New Leaf," it can get to feeling like one's work will never be done. At some point, you have to call it done. And I think that's where you're at with Royall. It feels complete.

One last thing: Your town map, visually on my menu screen, looks like something I would like to have for myself. Last August, I was getting going with my new town ACNLpics. (I was after cherries for my native fruit. I established its Dream Address just last Thursday, 01.08.2015.) It's not enough to have a town where, when one is looking at the menu screen, the Plaza, the Town Hall, the Re-Tail all seem to be in ideal locations. Your town has the plaza right in the center, in the northern section, not far from crossing to the southern half. Your Train Station and Re-Tail are on the upper-left corner of the screen. (Obviously, that's northwest.) And a pond separates the two. Your map has one prolonged ocean view of the south/southeast/east, with a small mini beach separate from a dominant area. It's vital that the town is workable for what one wants to achieve. So, I'm saying, you chose wisely.

As for reviewing houses, I want to say this: I'm one who actually feels more drawn to Dream Address-visiting one's town by absorbing what one sees outdoors before anything else. You've immediately won me over already with all of the outside of Royall. So, I'm going to end it here. But, I will go through both humans' houses.

I look forward to having another Dream in Royall.

NOTE: For the person who will follow with presenting a review of any of my towns, I request that it be of ACNLpics. (Signature has the Dream Address. You can also use ACNLpics as a keyword.) Reason for that is because my third town, Temps, is uncharacteristically cluttered with ground items which I had been offering to potential visitors; and, for my former town Progress, I can't suggest anyone bothering with a town that is no longer active (and has since been reset).

[EDIT]

I AM TRASH SORRY FOR TAKING SO MUCH TIME I'M STUDYING FOR FINALS SO ACNL TIME IS MINIMAL AGH

With that said, let us proceed with the review!

I didn't expect a complete or even clean town because you said that is was ' full of trash', but I love the natural turn it start out with. For example, the sporadic campsite area is so cool! It's very loose, and so pretty to explore.

I really loved the zen area with the bamboo around the town hall. Additionally, I love seeing the less used/popular public works projects like the solar panel and brick-thing getting used. Very unique!

Your town flag is life. My life force is drawn from your town flag.

The little hidden metal bench was so cute to see between the durian trees right next to the little flowerbed. That's so cute!!

Highlighting Shanella's house...
Walking into Comrade K.K. was so nostalgic for me, and a unique pick. I rarely hear that song in anyone's house! That's a very festive front room you have. I love the casualness of it.

The bedroom upstairs reminds me of my room with it's cluttered cuteness. With dolls everywhere and the mermaid furniture, it really establishes a childlike feeling. The pictures are also sweet to see.

I can see the makings of a kitchen in the back. I can't wait to see the finished result!

Going into Boidoh's house, it seems much less cluttered which was easy on the eyes. I like seeing Cyrano's pic again. You two must be close. <3

The restaurant/sushi house in the back is adorable with Link running it aaaaa

The cabana room was very peaceful and reminded me of Christmas in Hawaii. K.K. Synth and the fan was so relaxing, you have no idea.

I can't wait to see what the Capricorn statue is blocking!

The kitchen upstairs is well on its way to being done!

Your town was loose and refreshing to visit! I loved it!

Cheers!

The aurora borealis in your town was absolutely stunning! The colors were beautiful with your very well-chosen paths. I think you did an excellent job of choosing when to update your dream :) I really like the way you organised your flowers, by both color and species. It really makes the town feel like you put a lot of effort into it!

The mushroom path leading up to the campsite was really cute! It looks really nice! Very cute, and a really original idea! I don't think I've seen it before. The character Rosalie was super, super cute! And her character phrase was really cute too :) It added a lot to the whole cuteness of the area around her house. I really dig the modern wood furniture instead! It's one of my favourite sets, though I don't think it matches the area around her house if you're going for the pink/flowery/cuteness? Otherwise, it's very nice.

I went to Lilly's house next, after admiring the orange and white lilies across from the Roost. The completely matching exterior was so nice, and looked really good! :) The interior with all of the sets in it was great, and showed you put a lot of effort into it! The villager pictures added a really nice personal touch to the main room. The bench next to Lilly's house was a really beautiful spot for pictures! Overall, Forks is such a beautiful town, I would definitely recommend it to anyone else who reads this, haha.

Sidenote: I really enjoyed the fact that I could take the custom design of a butt home :)

I wanna do this one! Should be done by ~7:30 pst

------

I love your "bush" tile. That honestly made me smile and I'm totally not going to count it against you as far as like, evaluation goes. Super cute and best of luck finding your bush starts!

Your tree is so little and yet you've gotten so much done! I love it when a town has a little tree. Bamboo surrounding the Plaza and lining your paths (and, eventually, bushes) is a really beautiful touch that I don't think I've ever seen before! Looks great with the whole town, especially with cherry blossoms floating through the air. I'm also really digging the minimalism of your paths -- instead of doing the full block, doing every other one makes it look like stepping stones. Goes well with the whole feel of your town. The color coordination of peaches, pink trees, and bamboo is so nice too! So simple, but so effective. The wood bridges add to this feel.

I really like that you have the whole town planned out. I can see that the yellow tiles are for potential PWPs. I'm really looking forward to dreaming of this town again, just so I can see what those are going to be.

Casper is cuuuuute. Your character design is mega cute.

There is one area of the town that is notably very empty -- the North Eastern corner, past your pond. There's enough room there to make a nice little park or something! Obviously this is a WIP so like, woah, no pressure. Just saying you aught to consider utilizing that space!

Now, as far as Casper's house, the whole space is very cute! Excellent use of the Classic and Regal sets, they solidify who your character seems to be. Chevre is one of my all-time favorite villagers so it was lovely to see her picture in your center room! (ngl that's totally why I wanted to do yours; because of your avatar being Chevre)

A very cute town with lots and lots and lots of really impressive planning! I can't wait to see any progress you may make! Please feel free to post again once you update, I totally want to see it.

Thanks! Cool to see someone who's heard WTNV.

I was planning to close off Management's room - no one's ever gotten out of there alive, and Cecil reports that you only see blackness inside (like how room's entryways are pitch black). I just need to find myself a Rope Partition from the Museum, haha. (((what's cool about blocked off rooms is they allow you some much needed storage space while still being ~*~*mysterious*~*~*~))).

Anyway, I'm going to do your town before I go to bed tonight! So this spot is reserved, etc

------------------------

OUTSIDE

Wow, what a scene to wake up to! There are stars reflected in the water (perfect that you used night time, and the Aurora Borealis); with stairs, beds of flowers, and corner torches like ones you would see in Rome. The stairs match your path well.

The Plaza is pretty cluttered by trees on its' outskirts - I can't get to the Cafe. But, I suppose this might be intentional, like you have a planned path for me to take. Kind of dissallows adventuring, so I'm not overly fond of this, but I'll see where it goes.

I decided to head right, to the upper part of town. Your map is really neat, because of that little strip of land up by the railroad tracks -- and you've decorated it so well! It looks absolutely fantastic, I really love it. There's a nice little bridge path over your starcrossed stream, but you can hardly see it because of the pines surrounding it. ...Maybe I just don't like trees. This might be personal bias! But, what are reviews, anyway. ((Again though, I couldn't see your instrument shelter because trees)).

Small detail that's really nice - the line of pansies by your middle bridge (the only one facing north/south). I didn't know they come in that Blue-Outside White-Inside color! And you have them lined up chromatically. Loving it.

Very, very nice perfect apple orchard! I don't think I've ever seen anyone end it off in triangles before. The log bench was a nice touch.

Love the bridges and cracked tiles by the Windmill, in the south of town. Good color coordination with the flowers lining the pathways as well. REALLY, REALLY nice job with the hedge-lining near the southern-most bridge. DIAGONALS. THATS impressive.

What's the source material this town is based off of? It sounds interesting.

The Eastern section around the town hall is very nice. I got lost in it for a bit, couldn't get out; but it looks very put-together.

INSIDE

Yukari's House: Opening room is very nice. Cool to see the bug, weeding day, and Eastern sets put together. The bathhouse looks great with the bonsai too! Lots of combinations I never expected, but go great. The cricket in the room on the left is way cool though! Maybe get him out of the corner! That's a bell cricket, right? I've got to remember to get me one of those. WHAT THE HELL THE BASEMENT IS SO BADASS. I AM ABSOLUTELY IN LOVE WITH YOUR BASEMENT.

Never have I ever seen so many sets combined to create one unifying theme. Your interior design is truly fantastic. Usually I don't visit inside of houses because I don't find interiors as exciting - but these have totally changed my expectations. Upped the anti. Like, holy ****. That was AWESOME.

Reimi's House: I don't know how long you're going to be able to stretch the Japanese theme and keep them looking unique. Which is fine! You do you. Gracie room on the right is way chill. Diggin it. (are you using all fake tidal-wave paintings for a reason?)

Other Houses: Lovely/Cafe set is nice together, wasn't expecting that. The basement where the witch and the bride get married is beautiful. The cloth pattern for the alpine set is a little dark? idk idk idk imho. COOL DARK PRINCESS SET. NEAT. WOW. Again, a brilliant example of your ability to combine sets I never would have guessed would go together iN A BILLION YEARS but they look like they're meant to be. Totally awesome.

All in all a great town! I feel like I was a little harsh on this one. It really truly was awesome and I enjoyed writing this up a lot. Thanks for sharing it!

Oh, dude, I'm reviewing yours! WTNV is what I listen to driving to work, and I love it sm.

DA: 4000-4444-2044

SO SORRY FOR THE LATE REPLY FINALS STUDYING IS ICKY GROSS STUFF

Anyways! I was really looking forward to seeing your town as I went there, and I was DELIGHTED BEYOND BELIEF when I woke up to blood and clothes. I'm not caught up in the show quite yet, so excuse me if I miss any references, but your town seems so closely thought out. After admiring the patch of trees and the sacrifice I ran into Carlos. As perfect as ever.

Before we get into Carlos' house, I'd like to compliment your decorating of the little animals' houses. Anyways, I loved the simplicity of Carlos' house. It's just the right size, and the less is more approach is perfect. (The top floor did give me WW nostalgia, though, haha)

I don't remember seeing the dog park.

I found Tamika brooding in her tent, pretending to read the nonexistent book. AS I WAS CHECKING THE WALLS THE HOURLY TOLL WENT OFF AND I ALMOST PISSED MY PANTS BECAUSE I THOUGHT I TRIGGERED SOMETHING IN THE GAME IT WAS REALLY SCARY. Ahem.

Cecil's house was definitely my favorite part. The recording studio was very well put together, and I loved the details like the pedestal for the script and the designs for the next room. The floating cat in the bathroom is so cute. I love it! The cat tower makes me so happy. The left room is the managment's office, right? Sorry if I"m wrong aaaaa.

I half expected Kevin to be Cecil's doppelganger for a moment. Hahaaaaa

I'm sorry I don't know a lot of the references made, but I'll definitely come back once I'm caught up!! I really do like the simple details you made like the mountain standees in front of the lighthouse or the satellite right next to the broadcast studio.

The town was so so so sooo thoughtfully put together, and I CANNOT wait to visit again.

Cheers!

[EDIT 2 aka I forgot to review Eli's house aaaaa]

The house was eerie just walking in, which followed the rest of the town's themes. The basement seriously gave me the chills even just with the furniture, but the gyroid use was perfect for creating horror effect.

Upstairs looks like college.

Once again, sorry for forgetting and for my general lack of knowledge on WTNV!!!!

Cheers (again haaaaah)!

I'd like to bump this, because I finished my review and because I don't want to lose it too far back in the pages of the Train Station. Please do Mayor Ai's Tenshi at 4200 - 4401 - 7842.

Gonna review Ai Tenshi's~

Outside:

I love the aurora when first waking up in the dream town, its sublime when coupled with the serene background music and accents all of the PWP in town very well!
I love the liberal use of the PWPs so no matter where you go, theres always something fun to see~ Your patterns are simply gorgeous and I love your villagers.
I love how the campsite is located near other houses and blends in beautifully. The matching style of Phoebe's house and Ai's is incredible and I really, really love Lurai's dress.
The town tune sounds great, especially when mint does it~
I love your town!

Inside Ai's house

As soon as I walk in I am greeted with a beautiful combination of bug tourney and japanese items, which I wouldn't have thought of! Music fits in exactly with all the rooms in both your houses, which I really love!
The basement is perhaps the most effective use of the gorgeous set that I have ever seen, it just...I commend your superlative design. The left room is kitcheny and has some interesting combinations of princess, regal and wood~
I really enjoyed the sounds in the sewing room (right room, first floor) with the combination of the sewing machine, princess cage and lily record player!
I also enjoyed the upstairs island room with all the flowers~

Inside Lurai's House

I went upstairs first and was greeted with an ice-themed room. To be honest, I don't like the ice items but you used them beautifully! I especially love the two manniquins facing each other!
The entrance room sounds so serene and I felt like taking a nap in here with the sound of running water in the background would be amazing.
The water pervades into the left room which has a nice "spa" feel to it. :)
I loved the backroom, it really felt like it would be a mermaid's bedroom, very good job!
I love your basements they are insanely good, I want to live in them so much QAQ. I really love the combination of the lovely set and the sweets set( my favorite set =w=)

All in all, great! Your town is so incredible.
