Review the Dream Town above you!

review of dawn!
I love the presents you set out in the town plaza, dressing up as a bear is always fun c: I also like your paths- they compliment the fairy tale theme your town has really nicely. The hybrids and bushes are so pretty and it's kind of a horror story to think of how long it probably took to get them XD I also like the items scattered around your town for the visitor- coffee cups, famous mushrooms, throwing beans, etc. Your town layout is super nice, everything seems to tie together really well, like the PWPs and how they mix with your overall theme.I also love your villagers- they're all super cute, especially Marshal! All of the player's houses are well done, in particular I like Juliette's bathroom and Arabelle's cafe. Overall, I don't think I did Dawn justice, but it's a super super pretty and nice fairy-tale themed town with lots of cute villagers and awesome public works projects. I can't really find something bad to say about it tbh, but you should totally give it a visit next time you can!

my DA: 5300-5153-0427
fair warning, my town is a heavy work in progress; i'd like feedback on the direction it's going in rather than the town itself haha, thank you :)

I'm doing this one! (Cheezyfries, you put the DA in wrong but that's totally chill I do that all the time, numbers are hard; so I'm going off of an older review of yours and it still leads to Candylnd at 5300-5153-6427 - but if it's wrong I'll do it over!)

To start, it's super cool that you have all of the fruits in your town! I bet your villagers are really happy with that. :) I've never really noticed how the perfect orange looks so similar in shape to the pear. That's like... That's a tangerine. Oranges with that bump?Y'know? Anyway, I like your trees, especially between the campsite and the train station. I also REALLY like the little inlet of flowers you have, surrounded by the path! The cool thing about paths with edges is that you can do EXACTLY WHAT YOU HAVE DONE HERE - make artificial little flower beds. The black, red, and white roses look really really nice!

I'm hugely impressed by your villagers houses on the southwest side of town. Everything looks so nice, with all their houses surrounded by flowers and paths leading around them! I would suggest putting a north/south path between Molly's and Rudy's house, but I understand completely why you haven't so far: they're so well lined up, and the blue violets/pink roses look so nice contrasting eachother. Either way, great job in that area.

Also maybe try and connect Whitney's and Polly's houses. I see you're missing some tiles here and there, I have a suggestion. When you're faced with an area where just the corner is cut off, like here:

HNI_0050.JPG

try and use corner parts. Like this:

suggestion.jpg

That goes the same for any road that has to go diagonal. Or at least, that's what I do.

Your south side of town is extremely well developed (I really liked the fire hydrant, actually! I rarely see that put to good use and it looks good where you've got it) and I love what you're doing with flowers everywhere; keep up the great work!

Mayor Eliot of Rancho

This is my second file, a One Year Challenge town. I think I've been at it for 3 weeks? The paths took me forever.
I could REALLY use some suggestions on what to do above and below the "library" (Maria's house). Also, there's a sort of triangular area near the Plaza where paths collide - don't know what to do with that, either. Thanks!

Hi! I really like the paths, for three weeks you are doing great, I still can't figure out how to get a police station, Maria's house is empty... I like all the greenery and statues. Please visit my town of Tamriel ~~~4000~3234~1202~~~

I like the natural feel you've got going on for your town :). I really like your town map as well, like your two areas are evenly split, so that's cooooool. Nice variety of villagers! You've got a lot you can do, I mean you could place your flowers around your paths, maybe build some more PWPs and have a few hybrids. It's a good start, keep working at it! :)

My DA is: 6900-2606-0160 (it's still in progress!)

lovely town!! i absolutely love the mushrooms/paths you have set up, it really sets the mood. your bushes are in a good design around town hall- i really like their setup. your town is a little bit hard to maneuver with the tree stumps/bushes, but it shouldnt be too much of a problem. i LOVE the flower field you have with the blue, red, orange, and yellow roses. its gorgeous!! the placement of the bench next to the waterfall and flowers sets up a super pretty scene. i noticed you have a pwp still being donated for- im sure itll be lovely once its finished.
your house is super cute! i tend to like houses that arent mostly one set of furniture in each room, but you did super well with varying the theme.
my suggestions are: maybe make it slightly easier to get around? the tree stumps make it difficult as theres a lot blocking certain paths. i also like when people leave clothing/items out for the people having the dream so they arent walking around in their pajamas. thats totally up to you, but i know it makes me feel more 'at home' i guess.
overall, i loved it. theres still work to be done, but its amazing for something still being worked on.

my town is still very much a wip, as i recently restarted! so keep that in mind if you will. uvu

Witchy! Hello! I visited your town of Moonrise :)

So, I like that you already have an idea of the path pattern you want to do. I I think it is very pretty. I was not sure if you are finished with it as it was all only one wide (save one small area). I love all the pwps. How did you get them all? I barely have any! I feel the town is off to a good start but is lacking in landscaping as well. The flowers and trees seem very random. I can't wait to visit after you have it more the way you want it to be :)

*I am not posting my dream address yet so if someone else wants to post theirs, be my guest*

Okay! I will post Ferelden!
A SEVERE work in progress... Brand new town.... A disaster in my opinion, compared to Ivy Wood.... But your feedback would be helpful!

Note that Cass's house is obviously unfinished, and will have the Princess set in Spring. Or suggest a set! Keep in mind its a Dragon Age theme town!

Butch will be moving out - that's why there is a path through his house. I am going to build a bridge across the river there when he does!

I put the zen garden, fence and well in those places so no villagers would move there. I want the a Roost to go there and a bench/picnic area when I unlock it.

I need more QR space with my other characters to fix my paths and get corner and middle pieces, so bear with me! That will be taken care of soon!

Thanks!

Like you have already said Ferelden is not finished yet, but I am sure once it is it will look awesome!
I like how you left space out in your paths for flowers :] That will look very nice!
Your path is beautiful as well! I love flowers ^^ Did you design it yourself?
Solas? house placement is awesome! Did the same with one of my characters ^^
A bridge behind Cass? house that leads to the Roost seems like a very good idea!
Cannot wait to visit once it is finished! ^^

It is a natural town with lots of flowers and trees! :]
Got inspiration from the Animal Crossing movie for my town!
Feel free to leave suggestions!
Thanks for reading :]

Review of Fernweh~~

First, thank you for the red balloon you left by the plaza tree xD actually, I kept finding little presents you left around the town. It was fun! haha :3 You have really cute villagers >_< I enjoyed talking to them.
Like you mentioned, there's a lot of trees and flowers in your town! It is perfect for the natural theme ^^* I think you could add more tree stumps, clovers, and mushrooms all around.. But clovers are pretty rare, so yeah.. Do it slowly.. I see you have some clovers around Carolin's house c:

Elena's house-- my favorite would be the kitchen & bathroom! I like how you decorated the rooms & paid attention to the little details ^^ one little suggestion- in the basement, you could change wallpaper/flooring.. Maybe replace with backyard lawn & backyard fence, or meadow vista & daisy meadow (these might be hard to find D: I took forever finding the daisy meadow..anyw,).. Or forest wall & floor. There's also garden / sky wallpaper. I think those might look better to go with the natural, outdoor theme with the weeding set ^^*

Carolin's house-- I love all the rooms! Put well together c: I like the main room, cuz sweets set is one of my favorites >_< I haven't had 7-11 and gorgeous set in my game yet.. They look really nice! ^^

I like where you placed the Windmill~ Tho I didn't see a lot of variety of PWPs so I'm guessing you are still unlocking them. Wisteria Trelis and picnic blanket should match your town theme! Hope your Uchi villager suggest them soon, haha. More benches would be nice too ^^

I enjoyed my time dreaming of your town, and can't wait to see more as you keep working on it! Great job & thank you for sharing your DA :3

---------------

My DA is 5500-5128-3236. Did some major update! Added a new character, Alice (working on Alice in Wonderland theme. Her main room is mostly done) and got some new QR code paths (water paths are the new ones).. I'd love to get some feedbacks c: thnx in advance!

Wow, I have not been here for a long time...

Well, reserving this spot ^-^

Review of Dawn!:

What a pleasant town! I love the gifts you left around the main plaza, the bear costume is such a cute choice! Every single one of your villagers are adorable and I enjoyed talking to them. All the paths and PWPs are laid out so nice! I especially loved the areas around the train station and windmill! And the beach! I love the way you laid out your flowers like a rainbow. The campsite was really sweet too! I really like how it was secluded from the rest of the town and sort of it's own little area. The mushrooms were a great touch too.

The homes are all so cute!! I really enjoyed visiting Alice's home, the Alice in Wonderland/outdoors theme is adorable and love to see these kinds of rooms done so well. Arabelle's entire house was so nice, I especially thought the main room was really pretty. I thought the bride and groom mannequins were a really cute touch. I really liked the back room as well, you made such good use of the sweets set and other cute items.

I really can't think of anything to critique you on! I really enjoyed visiting your town a lot and I hope to visit again after your next update!

--------

My DA: 5600-4105-9473

I haven't updated since September so it is a bit of a mess (paths incomplete, flowers everywhere, etc)! I don't believe my third resident Momo had moved in yet and my other resident Simon's house is in disarray. I've definitely updated my mayor's house and cleaned my town up a lot since then so I hope to update it again soon!

EDIT: Oh no I'm really sorry, Vizionari! I started writing my review before you posted your comment and didn't see it until after. I didn't mean to skip you. ;_;

Sorry for taking so long!

I love the sound of the cicadas as you wake up :) I'm trying to make a summer town on my second town as well^^

Well like you said, it is a bit WIP but we all go through there ^^; you've got lots of nice hybrids in stock and I like the paths you chose for your town. The caf? area looks great.

My suggestion for landscaping would be to try and seperate some of the flowers and mix them together (but that's my preference), and more bushes and trees would look great I think :) it gives more depth the landscape.
I do love the flowers arranged in the heart shape :) I thought it was fun a very cute ^^

I loved the upbeat and girly feel of this room!!!

Overall I think it is a good start c: some landscape and more PWPs and voil? ^^ !!
I enjoyed visiting your town c: Thank you ^^

Vizionari's Town of Tenshi

Wow, okay the first thing I like to do is look at the town tree and BAM! Your tree is huge and the massive branches were surrounded by the northern lights. It was a really cool way to start the dream. Next up was the town hall. I love how the peach trees frame the building and how the trees look as if they grow out of the patterned ground. Speaking of the pattern, I like the colors. Not my personal favorite but you make it work well. The flower arrangements in some areas look a little too random where in others they are in a very pleasing pattern. Not sure if that is on purpose. I like how the zen part of town has a completely different path. It really adds to the calm feeling presented with the bamboo and zen pwps. The well above the town square is another notable area. Here I like that the flowers are random. They pattern stump and mushrooms around the well look magical. The entire town has a sort of magical air but this was a different feeling. OH! The symmetry around the flower clock was great! I am such a sucker for symmetry in towns.

I don't normally do homes soo... sorry if you wanted a review of that.. I didn't think about it until now.

Lou's Town of Cotton

Another beautiful entry. The pink petals falling is so pretty. And again, symmetry <3

I don't normally dress up but I decided to go with it and I really liked it. I don't have a hair bow wig myself so that fun for me. I was glad I dressed up because I felt like I belonged in the town. I really like stone paths myself and I liked the variations throughout the town. I liked the mushrooms and clovers interrupting the paths. Your town gave me tons of inspiration for my own. I just need more bushes!!! (and my dreamies to move in... -_-) The oranges outside Tangy's hose were a cute and funny touch. I also liked the book between the stumps behind her house, looking at the waterfall.

Overall both towns are sooo pretty and I am insanely jealous. :)

You can review mine I guess.. It is a MAJOR work in progress as I don't have my dreamies and I haven't unlocked the pwps I want...

Oh ok thanks! :)

Elesmera! Nice name.
Your town looks really pretty for having no paths. It feels very nostalgic. The blue, purple, and black flowers compliment each other rather nicely. My favorite part was the front of your town hall, but the path leading to retail was excellent too because of all the cedars. I've noticed there was a bit of a difficulty getting from the town hall to your house. A bridge would be great somewhere below the town hall if you manage to make enough room. Good luck getting all your dreamies/pwps. I'm sure your town will look amazing once it's finished.

The main room of Arya's house was a bit overwhelming. It might just be because of the floor or it might just be me. You're trying to mix sets! That's fantastic. The room upstairs seems a bit empty though. I suggest putting some music in some of the rooms to give it more personality, but it's your choice.

I almost forgot. Could whoever reviews mine check whether the town clock plays the town theme at the beginning of the dream? I've been trying to get my dream town set at exactly 1AM. Thanks!

OPENING:
Hey there! Well first off, you did a great job with the timing of the bell, that was super cool! It was great waking up to that and it really set the mood for the town. Your town tree is HUGE! Also I absolutely LOVE the name Nectere. Adding an outfit or two for the dreamers to wear and perhaps some items to use (Coffee, sparklers, ice cream, ect.) would have been nice and added to the immersion of the dream. Also it would provide more opportunities for photo-ops! (I didn't take any pictures because my memory card is full, but man I wish I could have.)

NOTES:
I like the placement of your lighthouse! Its a little out of the way, but I like how close to the sea it is and the flowers around it really compliment it.
The placement of your campsite is interesting, but I would suggest reworking the flower combination around it a little.
The flower color combination around the pond is super cool!
Nothing on the beach, which is fine because there's not a whole lot you can really do with beaches, but some flowers and trees would make it a little more interesting.
You have a lot of non-fruit trees, which must have taken some dedication and I applaud you for dealing with them throughout the year just for this one week of cherry blossoms.
The pathway under the lilac trellis is super pretty and I love it.
I like the symmetry with the flower clock and the fountains. The color combination of flowers is unconventional but really cool looking. Most of the flower combinations I've seen around this town are actually really interesting and creative. Good job!
The zen area is really nice and calming.
The Eiffel Tower is a PWP that I don't see used very often and I really like what you did with it!
The illuminated arches and christmas tree things look SUPER cool and its kind of feels like a park? I like it.
Your orchards are nice and I like the way you've fit them in.

PATHS:
One thing I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE about this town is the pathways. It's complex, and usually when i see pathways that are complex they end up coming off as busy and a little complicated to follow. But these paths feel simple and elegant even though they are complicated. I felt like I knew exactly where to go and there weren't any weird tile placements. I talked to Wendell and it looks like not only did you make the paths, it's simplified enough that you can fit all of the patterns onto one character which is something I ADORE when paths do this. This is definitely the shining prize gem of collection of treasures that is your town.
However, I do like to follow the paths as sort of a "this is how the person who made the town intended it to be seen kind of thing, and I had to do quite a bit of backtracking in order to see everything since it wasn't clear which direction I should go. This isn't a huge problem, and honestly your paths are good enough for it to not even really be a problem at all. I felt you should know though

HOUSE:
The area outside the mayor's house is really cool! It feels like I'm approaching a grand mansion with the statue garden around it and all. It's right near the sea, so that's a huge plus (I love sea houses.). Also I'm a huge sucker for symmetry.
First room is very classy. I like all of the stools. Often times I'll see bakeries and they'll be really overdone with every single food item in the entire dame. This feels nice.
The spa/bathroom has the same thing going for it! I love how it has so many flowers in the background. Not filled to the brim or busy with random items at all.
The office definitely feels like the kind of place a mayor would hang out. Or maybe accept guests and make intimidate them into political compliance! I like that you've made your mayor's house/mayor feel very powerful and grand. Perhaps some fancy paintings on the walls would complete this room?
I like the room on the right. I can't tell whether its an entertainment room or some kind of office block though? Perhaps for all of the mayor's dedicated workers? Does the mayor run some sort of successful enterprise? Either way, I like how you blocked a whole bunch of computers together. I haven't seen that before. The server item might be a good addition here, since there are so many computers it seems like the kind of thing that would be in here. I really like your combination of the different couch pieces.
I really really like a lack of music when its done right and your upstairs room does it wonderfully. The way you can hear the waves outside add to the feeling that its some sort of seaside statue garden or perhaps some sort of temple perhaps?
Electronic rooms are a little overdone, but the fact that you made your basement sort of a space room, like there's secret government operations going on, makes up for that. I'm not sure what the Brewster thing is doing there, since he doesn't seem to fit in with the theme very well, but other than that I like it. It feels like a secret base.

Overall this town is absolutely gorgeous and you did a wonderful job on it. I got some ideas from it for my own town too!

So! My town is still a HUGE work in progress and was even more so the last time I updated my town, but I really wanted to review and so there we go. I'm not going to update it, even though there's been some pretty major changes in my town since I last updated it, since I want to use my friend's 3ds to take a look at how my town used to look. For old times sake and also to see how far I've come. Get inspired you know? I might come to this thread again once I feel like I can update my dream town. In the meantime, I might use your suggestions anyway. There's still quite a few areas that have been empty since forever and I don't really know what to do with.

Review of Bute

Even though it’s a work in progress as you said, I think it is a pleasant town and is off to a good start. Your paths are easy to follow and your tiles look great. The marble like tiles you have match the cobblestone, and the stepping stones go well with the grass, but I think the two styles of path don’t match each other as well as they should. I would change the skinny path to match the main path or vice versa. The wooden path looked good on the beach and I would just make sure that all the tiles are connected together. Regarding your trees and flowers, I can see that there are a number of areas where you are starting to arrange them nice and neat, which is great! I like the line of cedar trees and flowers between Rudy and Keaton’s houses. It would be good to see more cedar trees from Keaton's house to the wall. There are a couple of places where you have bamboo forests and maybe it would look nice if there was a boundary around them so that the bamboo doesn’t grow out of control? Like some flowers or tiles surrounding them maybe. I could see that there was a big area with bush starts and things collected, so I’m sure that your actual town has a lot more green in it. It was nice to see the special stumps strewn about the town too. I checked out Katie’s house and thought it had a lot of potential too. I really like the main room with the DJ and musical instruments in the corner. It looked like a nice living room where you could have parties. I thought the placement of the other buildings made sense too – such as the caf?, retail, and police station all in the same area. I wish I had thought to do that in my town. Anyway, I think you have a nice map and that your town has a lot of potential!

Ok I just updated my dream today. My mayor's house is more developed and there is more vegetation and nature outside too. As always, it's a work in progress. I plan on switching up some PWPs and expanding the mayor's rooms for example.

updated during a meteor shower.
please ignore the streetlamp east of the instrument shelter and the clock south of Reimu's. They're just there to keep villagers from moving there.
would like whole review, but some specific advice on Yukari's backroom and Marisa's right(want to turn into a romantic hotel room).

Likes:
-plaza area: gold roses around perfect peaches, nice that a path went through the illuminated arch
-city hall area is very zen
-camping area

- Jenny's House:
main:what a mess! :)
right: beach
back: swanky cafe
left: a utility room; so rare to see one
basement: kinda spooky
2nd floor: nice bath room

Dislikes:
-no path to lighthouse
-wisteria trellis near Jenny's house feels a little pointless
-flower overload

Final Thoughts: looks good; the downside is just that it's simply unremarkable. It's just a little average. you probably know this though, so I look forward to seeing it come to fruition.
