Reset Dilemma

So I'm kinda bored with my island... I have 10 villagers who I love and dont want to get rid of any of them. The problem is I used extensive TT to get them which I said I wouldn't do and I feel like its taken away some of the experiences I would have had otherwise. I really wanted to come into this game experiencing new villagers and now because I don't want to get rid of any of them I feel like that won't happen. Originally that was what I was doing but when I found out it can take up to 20 days for a villager to ask to leave compared to 5 days in New Leaf I suddenly just started to TT to get more villagers.

Ive achieved a 5 star island and have every hybrid flower, a fully upgraded house, and tons of DIYs which was all used with TT too. I didn't TT for the first maybe month of playing but then I got into the villager trading to find villagers I really like and couldn't stand how villagers take so long to move out in this game so I just TTed out all the ones I didnt want etc. I also feel like theres not really a lot to do anymore because ive completed a lot of stuff except the museum and a few miscellaneous things here and there.

The problem I have is I don't want to restart because no one plays irl with me so I know no one to hold some items for me (which would mainly be some of the limited time stuff anyway) so I would have to wait until next year to get all the bunny day DIYs again (not like I use them anyway) but I'm such a collector that Id still want them. Can I please get some advice on this :/

How about resetting and starting from launch day until you catch up to today so you’ll still be able to get the Sakura and Bunny Day DIYs?

Sounds like you want to restart so go for it. This is a pretty great forum with a lot of people hosting a variety of services. I’m sure you can find someone that could hold items!

I paid someone some TBT to hold onto a few things for me so I could restart. If you have regrets it's best to just start over imo. I couldn't stand my player name and knew I could have probably gotten a better map layout. So despite having some pretty good villagers and a decent town going I just opted to restart. I think overall I will end up feeling better down the road and it's let me try some new villagers and rediscover some older ones I left behind.

This forum has some really kind people, so I'm sure someone will be willing to hold on to stuff for you! It really sounds like you want to restart though.

It honestly sounds like your heart is set on restarting. As much as it would suck to not be able to have your stuff, I think you'll be happier about it in the long run. Like others have said, try asking the forum to help you out! There could be a few people willing to hold a villager for you I think the other idea of TT from Mar 20 to today is a great idea so you don't have to start completely from scratch
