My friend was tting to the day she had Redd in her town and repeating the day to get more stuff from him. She let me come over to get stuff from him too. I would go back to my island while she changed the date and went back to it and I'd go back again. After the 1st time I was unable to buy anything but she could. Redd told me 1 purchase per visit. Am right in thinking this is because I didn't also tt? I can't see any other reason but that.

yeah, the day has to change for you too. Celeste does the same thing. It doesn't matter where you try, you can only get one per your 1 in-game day.
