...on my upcoming CD!! :D

The total song count? 18! The total time is around 52 minutes. I am so excited to send this baby to the pressing companies... I'm still deciding on a name and price for the CD (Songs of Solitude will probably NOT stick, because a lot of the songs clash with the whole "solitude" theme), and the price will be either $10 or $15. I'll have to see what the production costs are before I choose a price...

But anyway, here's something for you guys... the tune that will be headlining the album -- Aquarela do Brasil! It is the most famous Brazilian tune, period. You've likely heard it before; it's been referenced in TV shows, movies, what have you...

Also, I should probably mention that this tune was done on the first take. I thought I captured the Brazilian "spirit" well enough not to do another take... but that's just me. What do you guys think?

Congratulations on completing your album. I hope you had fun making it.
Thanks. I definitely did. :D Some of the most fun I've had in a long time... seriously, the creative process is a blast.

Whoa'... lotta' song-time on there.

Congradulations on your finish! =D

And that song..."Aquarela do Brasil" is pretty good! Especially now that I've been into this type of thing, thanks to you. =P

...and Jobim.

Thank you. :D

Yep, it's one of the "ballads" of Brazil, actually... which is why I chose it as the first track. A lot of my buyers will likely be from the Brazilian cafe, so they'll definitely recognize the tune.

Jobim is amazing. D: Seriously. He wrote like a 1000+ tunes... not all of them are masterpieces, but hey, at least 100 of his tunes are. You gotta be a genius to write 100+ masterpieces. 0_0

Hey, I've heard this tune before, not sure if it was from a show or film.

Congrats on finishing!

And I showed my brother Luzia (the song) last night, he was amazed by it.

You still owe me songs from the other CD. xD

Nah, it's not big deal. :P

Congrats on getting your cd done. The mp3 is awesome.

Thanks! : )

By Paco, you mean? Yeah, that tune is amazing. Absolutely monstrous...
That's even better, did you get the running time right?
Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's still ~52 minutes.

Sorry for the double post, but an update on the pricing situation:

At this point, the most important thing for me is to get the word out, not make the most money. So I'm thinking of selling the first 200 CDs at $10 each, and if those sell well, the next 200 will be sold at $15 a pop. That way, I'll have a decent market penetration, and I'll have already made $1000 in profit (part of which will go on to finance the next 200), so...

What do you guys think?

I think I'd better get one of the first 200.

I probably skipped this information somewhere, but is there a time frame that you have in mind for a release?

My sound guy is going to mix the sessions over the weekends, so we'll send it off for mastering the following week... long story short, I'm planning a mid-end September release.
