It should be edited into the campsite guide that if you start getting repeat personalities it means the villager is waiting in your void for a random move in!

I wonder if the same is true about mystery islands? That perhaps you cannot encounter villagers on an island who are in queue in your void?

What I don't understand is why Raymond was in that void anyway, none of the towns I visited have had Raymond. I've had a few randoms visit my island via dodo code would that have counted or was it just pure chance that he was going to move in anyway? Wish I'd known sooner would have saved days of heartbreak

Ok last update I spammed campsite all afternoon and after Quillson turned up 3 times I decided to move out cat villager and just when I finally decided to cut my losses and quit Raymond moved into vacant house! I couldn't be happier but this has been a long week of trying lol! Thanks for your encouragement and thanks for listening to my mad rambles!

Congratulations! I was crossing my fingers for you because holy frick all of that effort you put in! I'm not sure what he was doing in your void. It could be that the game itself presets a few villagers to be in a specific kind of void that lines up which villagers you'd get if you don't fill the plot on your own with a camper or a nook tourist, you let the game randomly autofill, and you haven't played multiplayer? But that's just speculation, so I'm not sure. I'm sure this wasn't the way you were expecting to get Raymond after all of that, but you got him one way or another. I think he was just trying to REALLY surprise you.

I think that kind of information would have to be datamined somehow before it can be said in the document, so that misinformation doesn't spread. For now, this seems to be some speculation that we'd have to look into more.

I'm down to 24 smug villagers to go. If Raymond doesnt spawn when I've got everyone I will try the random move in method. If this works I see that information as confirmed.

Just a heads-up! Once every smug has come and gone, you'll need to go a little further before stopping. I had every smug villager come and go, and then 9 more villagers of other personalities before Raymond actually showed up. You'll probably need to keep trying until the smugs repeat.

It is the 24th february 2022. He visited. He moved in. I am so happy. Took me two and a half real life days.
Everyone keep going, he will spawn sooner or later. Had 12 snug villagers including Raymond to go.
