Random thoughts thread. (New Horizons)

I think I am just gonna to buy the models for the coelacanth and golden stag on here.

These are incredibly rare creatures, so I don’t want to push my luck with them. The golden stag won’t be out until July anyway. I rather just sell everything after donating them to the museum.

Besides, I do want to get all of the host and visitor and achievements eventually, so I’m just gonna take advantage of that by getting some help with the models and other things.
I haven't gotten enough for those, but I feel the same way with the cicadas shell. I'm lucky I even found one. I had to finally go on a Nook island and destroy the entire island minus for a few trees on the mainland. And even 'terraforming' it that way so that I guaranteed nothing else but cicadas would spawn on the trees it still took like almost 2 hours to find one.

Maybe others have better luck with rng for the shells, but I've only seen one whole shell since my time of playing in 2020 lol. And I had to actively destroy an island for that to happen.

I had stitches showed up last night in my island.... I was super excited because he was a favorite of mine years ago
I love Stitches!

And today one of my visitors was Deli, another of my favorite Lazy villagers. I declare, this game makes them cuter than any of them ever had a right to be. He was a hotel visitor and I just wanted to adopt him into my island right there.

Something I noticed or at least since the update. Villagers no longer walk to the plaza when K.K. Slider is there unless they are going to sit in the chairs there.

Before the update, Villagers would often walk onto the plaza carrying either brown paper bags or a handbag with them when they walk up to it while he is there. They still do this, but not when K.K. is there now.

I managed to catch three coelacanths this morning, since it was raining, so now I just have to wait for CJ to come back. ^_^

I just got him a few days ago, though, so it could be a while. >_<

(DW, I already donated a coelacanth a few days ago)

The next Animal Crossing game, while retaining advanced graphics like New Horizons’, should go back to New Leaf’s seasonal colors. In particular:
  • September 8th is when the dark green grass and trees starts to turn a bit yellow (the green side of lime).
  • September 16th is when the grass and trees are lime-colored (the yellow side of lime).
  • October 17th is when the grass and trees all become yellow.
  • November 2nd is when the grass and trees all become light orange.
  • November 10th is when the grass and trees become orange.
  • November 18th is when the grass and trees become red.
  • November 26th is when the grass and trees become brown.
I’m sorry to say, but I do not like New Horizons’ seasonal color scheme.

Welp, looks like we are going to get a new wave of creatures tomorrow, as March will be here. Wish me luck guys, I might need it for the spider crab and golden trout. 😌👍

You can do it. I caught at least three spider crabs today (I'm a day ahead) and if I can manage to tread my way over the top of them and dive anyone can do it. Finding the golden trout will probably be more of a challenge than the catching of it, although if I don't close my eyes and just listen for the splash I lose so many fish it's ridiculous.

I wish the events were more interesting in this game. In New Leaf, during Halloween, we'd have to buy masks to scare villagers and it was fun trying to guess which one each villager was scared out. And during Christmas, we'd get clues all month of December as to what each villager wanted and then have to guess which toy in Jingle's bag fit what that villager wanted. Heck we even got to work in the Roost and guess coffee orders. I get that this isn't New Leaf but it feels like the events were seriously regressed.

I feel you here. When I fish, I have to look away. Otherwise, I will get jumpy and take my bobber out too early.

OMG same, so I'm always looking away when I'm fishing and listen solely for the sound.

Wow. I managed to get a spider crab after only diving for a couple minutes. I even got it before I got my daily scallop.

Agreed. i’ve also noticed that a lot of the events rely a lot on crafting. I miss just getting actual items during the events. The same can be said for the golden tools. They are a lot more rewarding to get in previous games.

I prefer New Horizons Cherry Blossoms over New Leaf's.
(Both pictures are from my towns.)

And if I see this colored tree during the winter one more time. I will find a way to burn the town to the ground. lol

I'm so glad they were not a thing anymore. Whenever I saw the way the trees looked during the winter in NL, I have the urge to chop them down; I only stop myself because I have to re-plant them.

Keep those [Word I can't say on TBT]-colored trees away from me.
