Random thoughts thread. (New Horizons)

Did you know? My island of Palm City was named after one of the towns from a video game idea I’ve been writing. It’s not a real game, but I hope it becomes a reality.

Sometimes, the names you use in Animal Crossing are related to your original works.
 
Went on a boat tour lastnight and found an island with a bunch of star fragments and shooting stars. Never seen that before, star fragments popping out of rocks. That was a fun change of pace after spending so much time decorating.

The upgrade pack being number 1 for switch 2, followed by the full switch 2 edition in second place, and even for the switch 1 charts, new horizons is topping it.

Sales of the game are way up.

I don't think this is really big enough to draw in a large crowd like we got with NH launch or Welcome Amiibo update. I love the hotel but really it's just another happy home designer just that you don't have to fly to get to it. I do hope they decide to keep giving us updates but that's just wishful thinking. If they gave us multiplayer I think that would really boost the numbers here.

That's the shooting star island! I only got it once and funnily enough it was when I was decorating a room and needed a few special fragments. Thought to myself wouldn't it be nice if I got that island with Kapp'n and sure enough I did! 😆

A villager told me she found a 2-for-1 deal on a lantern, and I have to ask.... Where does she find such a thing? Because Tom Nook never has 2-for-1 deals. 🤔
 
I’m honestly having so much fun with slumber islands. I can finally decorate an island without getting overwhelmed and giving up. I do wish there were a few little additions to the feature, but I’m just amazed we kind of get 3 new islands for free. And it’s so much more fun decorating with friends. It’s not perfect but I love it and I haven’t got over the shock of the reveal yet 😂
 
I think I finally decided a theme for my house. I'll go with a late 60s - 70s vibes. No more wondering if I go goth or pastels 🤣
 
I could have sworn there was a frustrations thread for this game, but I didn't see it.
Since the new update got me trying to play again, I finally realized I don't really like the change that was made a few years ago to Isabelle's announcements. It's because it seems she no longer announces meteor showers.
This morning when I opened the game, she announced that Leif was visiting. However, I noticed a tip on the loading screen about how to wish on shooting stars, which I thought felt suspicious.
When it was night, I decided to open a different profile which I had been playing yesterday. This time, Isabelle announced Celeste was visiting. I didn't even know that could be announced. It's kinda ridiculous because you have to not be playing during the day or have an alternate profile you haven't opened yet just to be told that. When I opened my other profiles, Isabelle only talked about the season because I hadn't opened those profiles enough recently. I personally think Isabelle has too much dialogue now. I do not like how she will prioritize the daily visitor (which your own villagers could be telling you instead) over the meteor showers. Being told about them in the morning was pretty useful in case you weren't planning on playing again at night.
I never played enough to unlock all of the recipes from Celeste and I am frustrated to learn that has been made even harder for me.

Thread 'The ACNH Rant Thread'

Similar to the What’s Bothering You Thread, this is a thread to discuss your frustrations with the new game if you have any. Since there was a lot of complaint threads on the ACNL board, I decided to come up with a thread where you can share all of your frustrations or other problems (like someone else ruined your island). ACNH may not have the same problems ACNL did since Nintendo listened to us, but that doesn’t mean ACNH is free of any flaws. For a reminder:

I need to figure out how I want to decorate my house before I even consider decorating my island lol.
I've always put a lot of effort in the museum that I forget about everything else, but after seeing some Tiktoks on some cool islands, I might have to figure something out.
 
I walked in on Shino and Papi making out today. Their mouths were touching D: So now theyre dating on my island.
Saw Ione for the first time IRL today at my hotel!
I have 3 rooms left on my island to finish before it's 100% done! I've been working on my island since 2021 D:
Kinda wish I could live in my ACNH house for real...I made it soo nice <3
