School is going to start this Monday and I have almost completed my dreamies. I won't be able to play on weekdays so following a friend's advice to move back to the date last played should keep them there. I did read in a guide that when moving back to the real date, you should just find the mover, reject his or her request, then TT back to the real date no matter how far it is. Can anyone confirm this? I don't want to risk losing my villagers.

i can confirm it! i told someone not to move and went years forward and everyone was still there. someone wanted to move, but their moving date was 5 days after the current date as usual

i tted with the 3ds clock, if it makes a difference

if you're not sure, just check with a new character if anyone left or is in boxes before loading your mayor

I can confirm that if you say no to someone, you can TT as many days forward as you like. On my cycle town, I loaded up, said no to a villager moving, saved and changed the date to 10 years in the future, no one was gone.

I do this all the time now if I know I havent been on for a while.

I can confirm this too. I commonly use this method before I go on a hiatus with my game. I've done it both with the 3DS clock and the AC clock before (not at the same time though!).

Thank you so much for this information. I start a new job on Monday and won't be able to play every single weekday any more. So happy to hear this. SO SO SO happy.

I think the other suggestions are sound. The method I use to move villagers out includes travelling forward by one year at a time and after I last denied a villager's request to move out, when I load it one year later, everyone's still there. So the key is to make sure to deny a villager's request on the last day you're playing.

definitely this. If I know I'll be away, I write a little note reminding myself whether I did or didn't tell someone to move, then I'll know whether I should just start up or if I need to TT back to when I last played
