Question for non TT-ers!

Do you visit towns of TT-ers, set to different dates, for any reason, eg to pick up a villager?

I don't time travel out of my own preference for playstyle, but I have no problem with those who do, and have no problem playing with them

Yes, especially for turnip selling. If you're playing online, it's very difficult to not come into contact with TTers. (Not that there's anything wrong with TTing in the first place.)

Yeah I visit towns of TTers, just to hang out, or to pick up villagers.

I just make sure not to catch any bugs or fish from their towns. I want the joy of catching those when they're in-season in my town!!

i personally don't care haha, i feel like people can experience the game any way they want and its cool to see what they can do in less time than me. i like taking the slow route but i dont want it stopping me from experiencing other people's towns!

I would visit them and trade, catch bugs, etc if it was in the other hemisphere or another date.

yeah of course! it doesn't matter to me (and shouldnt to anyone) how others are playing, and there's not even "spoilers" like the nook's cranny upgrade left anymore afaik so i can't think of any reason not to.

i personally prefer not to visit islands in different seasons as i don’t really want to spoil it for myself - i wanna experience each season firsthand, y’know?

If I do it, it's not on purpose. I don't fish or bug, but I'll water flowers or pick up a recipe.

I know exactly how you feel. If I travel to an island that’s been set some other time, I feel like I’ve broken the rules. Granted they are my rules and I do not presume anyone else should be following them, but if I never want to get benefits from TT even inadvertently or by proxy. It makes me very uncomfortable. So no, I do not go to people’s islands that are set to other dates, and generally I do not accept bells in trades because I never know who TTed to earn their bells.

I’m surprised I’m in the minority on the poll, since everyone I know irl who does not TT gets very upset if they go to an island set to the wrong date. Again, no judgment against people who do it, but we don’t want to inadvertently gain any benefits from someone else’s TTing.

it’s my feeling that if you TT you should let people know before inviting strangers to your island. I always feel like a jerk or like I’m sounding judgmental if I ask outright. Twice now I have gone to people’s islands and realized they TTed. Both times I still pretended to do what I had come to do (sell turnips or pick up a recipe) and then left because I felt too weird saying “I changed my mind, bye.”

Uh, yeah I don't care who time travels. I will trade, talk to a special npc and catch any critter that comes into my line of fire.

I also set my hemisphere to southern despite actually living in the north hemisphere. The reason I chose that as I wanted to experience seasons in different months and so far, it's pretty interesting.

That being said, when everyone was having cherry blossoms, my friends were gifting me the items. I feel no shame jumping between hemispheres.

I'm basically like a migratory bird that found the wormhole between the two hemispheres.

I've technically time traveled a bit to open up plots for dreamies, so i don't really count, but i find that a lot of the time if you trade, people won't mention whether or not their island is time traveled so you can't really avoid it. it's not like it really affects you when trading other than how they acquired the item(s) that they are trading to you, so it's fine
