Question for non TT-ers!

Do you visit towns of TT-ers, set to different dates, for any reason, eg to pick up a villager?

Do you visit towns of TT-ers, set to different dates, for any reason, eg to pick up a villager?

I think I worry too much about 'ruining' the game for myself if I accidentally break certain rules in my head. I feel like something like refusing to visit towns set to different dates would be a bit strict, and make the game needlessly limited - however I'm interested to know what others think and how others that consider themselves non time travellers play the game, what restrictions do and don't you set etc?

Created a poll, would love some feedback please!

(Just to clarify as I know there's sometimes hostility towards TT-ers - I'm in no way against others doing it and it's actually really helpful to me in many ways. Please no negativity towards those who choose to TT on this thread!!)

Thank you :)

i'll visit other towns in different dates or in the southern hemisphere but i won't catch any bugs or fish if i haven't played through that month yet

If I would be trading I wouldn't really care about what they do with their island. I would be worried that them being in the future could have bad consequences for me, and I wouldn't want to see spoilers for the upcoming seasons and experience them for the first time by myself.

I think I would go as long as they're still in spring. Wouldn't matter what month or year, just be in the same season. But I guess this also differs from northern and southern hemisphere. Not sure if I would like to go to an island that's not in the same hemisphere to be honest.

I don't TT and have visited those do. Either to trade DIYs with, visit celeste, and/or sell turnips.
I am not against other people who TT (tho, if I know someone who exploits TTing i will personally not do business with them. Most TTers dont do this tho. =3)
The idea of vetting if someone TTs or not before doing business with them is... well.. silly. If they want to buy my DIY or trade mine for one I want, I don't care that they jumped a day to finish that bridge faster a few days ago. Lol

Yes, most people seem to TT and I don't know if I'm going to visit a time-traveler for a trade until I get there usually.

I do visit towns for trades but for example last times i kinda regretted it, because i saw both winter and fall (which is my favorite season) which i wanted to experience when it was the time. Nothing so excessive btw, if its for trades i do visit but i dont partecipate in any activity (fishing etc)

I don't TT but I have no control over everyone else does with their Island.
Most traders are avid TT'ers from what I can gather and I'm fine with that.

I did break my own TT'ing rule just once when I was desperate to adopt Zucker. I just TT'd one day forward to let Rowan who was in boxes move out then TT'd back to current date a few days later when Zucker was my permanent island resident.
He's probably the only villager I'd do this for and I was really desperate for him since the start so I don't really feel bad about doing it.

For trades or diy crafting ill visit a non TT town, no prob!

For casual visiting i like to visit like minded people, because otherwise i would compare my progress to much or see to much stuff and items I'm not able to get yet.

Let me say i mean i dont visit TT islands who TT extremely amounts, i dont really care about islands who sometimes skip a couple of hours or days etc.

I don't care at all. I visit Celeste everyday, I buy turnips on the middle of the week, sell on Sunday. The only reason I don't TT is so I have something to look forward everyday when I wake up, or events like the one in may or fishing contest, but I have no problem with not playing in a "pure" way.

Also, about bugs and fishes, I dont catch the off season ones. But I never got to a winter or summer island, I think.

I personally only see story as spoilers in games. Animal Crossing doesn't have any story, so there's nothing to spoil. If I went to another island, it doesn't matter what day/time it's set to.

Yes, its not like by visiting these islands will ruin gameplay for me. Not like I'm going around catching out of season fish and bugs.

Kinda hard not to these days considering most people TT and if you don't trade you're losing out on 50% of the game. Although I do try my best to avoid such towns

Yes, I do. Just because I don't TT doesn't mean I'm going to boycott anyone who does. Plus, most of the time you don't even know they TT until you get there.

I'm not against doing it. It's not such a heavy concern of mine that I'm screening each person I visit to ask if they are a time traveler or not. I can acknowledge that time travellers are the ones providing all those items we buy/trade for in the first place (at least in some cases).

There are some things I honestly would have preferred to not see ahead of time and I had wanted to explore and discover it on my own in my own town, but those things honestly cannot be helped unless I chose to play in total hermit mode and simply not partake in online activities.

So it is what it is ^_^

I'm ok with it, even if i don't TT. It does not do any harm to my enjoyment of the game.

Thanks so much everyone - helped clear up a few things in my stupid brain haha!! Yeah I think the only thing I wouldn't want to do (possibly) is catch things I can't catch yet - however I'm not too bothered about spoiling seasons for myself as constantly looking up stuff about this game online anyway so bound to see pics! Think I'll relax and keep my main rule that I don't TT myself - after all as someone mentioned, the main reason I don't TT is to give myself something to look forward to each day, and that 'real time' sort of feel - visiting others doesn't detract from that!! Cheers :)

I'm okay with it, I just try not to buy/catch things that I wouldn't normally have access to.

So long as I'm not going there to do any time related thing that I wouldn't otherwise be able to do (out of season critters or selling turnips on Sunday) then I have no issue with it. Plus it would be kinda annoying to ask everyone I trade with or visit if they TT.

I honestly don't do a lot of travel/trading, so it doesn't really come up. The few times I have, I haven't screened the person to see if they TT or not. I think it would be similar to not visiting someone in the opposite hemisphere, simply because you don't want to visit their winter in your summer. I probably wouldn't catch fish or bugs from then, but as far as trading an item, I don't see it making much of a difference.
