Question about villagers moving out

Can they actually reject your saying and move anyway? I know they can reject when you say bye, because of "being a better friend"..but can they still move on their choice? Or do they bend to our will?

I pray that is the case.....

One villager said to me he would move out, I said: "who are you?" and he was like "ok let's make the best of our friendship ".... still trying to kick her out! haha

i think they will always stay if you tell them, but won't always leave if you let them

If you tell them to leave they will sometimes opt to stay (if this happens and you want them out, i recommend resetting and getting them to ping again since they will always ask again). If you tell them to stay they will always stay C: i remember my dear Pietro who plotted badly got offended when i said goodbye to him and he said he wanted to be a better friend to me so he wanted to stay. I miss him though but his house was literally 2 spaces from my townhall like he just squeezed it in there. I originally thought it was only Uchi's that can stay when you say yes when you say goodbye but i think it's all of them that can say that since a cranky and a smug did that to me as well and a normal might have as well

and ug, I wish I knew about the reset trick. Stitches wanted to move away yesterday and then decided to stay after I said goodbye. What a tease.
