Okay this has bugged me for a while now, can someone tell me, when a villager is set to move out on a set date, for example, March 4th is it possible for them to move out if you TT one day forward then one day backwards, pretend its March 1st and then you TT to March 2nd, then back to March 1st continuously, is it possible for that villager to move out? I dont get it, people say they can but HOW!?? I thought they move out judging by the date not by the number of days that pass until they move out? I understand that TTing back one day counts as one day forward but that still doesnt change the actual date it would still be March 1st? so why do they move out even though it hasnt reached the move out date? because I thought they can only move when the date has been reached?

I guess it's just one of the game's ways of punishing you for time traveling.

They move out by the number of days, not so much by the date. When I TT a villager to boxes I do it just like you described, one day forwards/one day back so I make sure I don't miss the day they're in boxes.

Yeah, they move out by the number of days rather than the date itself.

Oh! Now I completely get it now! The reason why they give you a date is because thats the date where the countdown ends, not a SET date where they leave! changing the date will change the move out date because the countdown is what determines when they leave! TTing back and forth moves the days forward causing the countdown to lower which causes their move out, due to the countdown not the date. I completely understand now lol thanks guys for your input.

No problem! I actually learned something new here as well. I never really understood how the moving out mechanism works until you mentioned it being a countdown. It makes perfect sense.
