Question about Amiibo campsite villagers...

So I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this already but...I scanned an Amiibo into the campsite today, and they asked me to craft something I don't have the ability to craft...

Will this count as one of their visits if I don't give them what they want, or do I have to get that item to make it count?
I'm about to head over to Nook's Cranny because I'm pretty sure someone's about to say I need to do it...

I don't think it would count unless you crafted, and gave them the item.

You have to complete 3 of their crafted requests.

Good news is if you can't craft something, it doesnt reset it though. So just keep loading them up, if you can't craft a thing it'll just be a day longer.

Amiibo campers should give you the DIY if they ask for something you can't craft, though...

Good news is you also don’t need to craft for them over three consecutive days. You could craft for them one day and then not scan them in until a few days later and that item you craft will still be number 2. At least, I am pretty sure it worked that way for me in the past.

I think they mean that they don't have the materials needed to craft the item?
