PSA- You can plan trees on the edges of cliffs

I know there's a thread on things you didn't know abt this game, but this is such a game changer for me I thought in a separate post it would reach more people.

the actual instructions start at 3:11.
You can do the water thing in any direction you want, and this has helped me save up space and cram a lot more trees in places I couldn't before!
pic related, I did the water squares facing north and it worked fine!

This is very interesting, but I'm not sure what would happen if this gets patched out? What will happen to these areas?

I have a feeling that if they patched this, they would remove the ability to do it but the areas that were already done would stay the way they are. Kinda like back in acnl that everyone started hacking their towns to put trees wherever they wanted and when the big update came it all stayed the same?

It works lol! I did this yesterday but only planted one tree so far as I only tested it out to see if it does work, I'm planning on using this before it gets patched out but I'm not even done terraforming yet so I hope I can still do it by then...

I have a hope, like, deep inside my heart that some glitches are intentional? I know it's highly unlikely, but maybe, maybe... since they knew how much we liked to put trees wherever we wanted in new leaf, they threw us a bone? I really hope they don't patch it.
Another glitch I personally love and hope they never ever patch is the house exterior glitch. I love that we have a choice to change our villager's house exteriors to fit our aesthetic.
The fact that its a super well known glitch and they haven't done a thing to fix it makes me super hopeful.. I just hope they don't patch it b4 my amiibos arrive, so I can get the perfect home exteriors with my favorite villagers.

Yes wouldn't it be awesome if it was intentional after all! Also I have known about the exterior glitch as well, and if that's not patched out yet then maybe there is hope that it won't also be patched out! Well at least for now lol

Haha nice but if they'll do a patch I just hope you can plant them just like this Not gonna happen, but now I'll be afraid I'm stuck with some trees if I do this haha

Firstly, do we consider this as an actual issue? Because the video explained why this is possible. Maybe it's an oversight from the developers. Somehow, this doesn't impact everyone because we can clear it anytime.

I'm assuming no, but would this also work for cliffs? so you could get 2 cliff tiles on top of each other? I've been really wanting to do that
