PSA: Marshal did NOT fall from grace

I think there was a poll recently where Marshal was overall more popular than Raymond. His availability via amiibo is really the only reason why his prices aren't insane (which I'm super happy about because I prefer Marshal anyways).

Marshal is forever number 1 in my books! He was a campsite villager for me in NL and I really never understood his hype until I finally had him all those years ago. I got super lucky and he was my forced move-in campsite villager in NH and I almost cried. May we forever stan the cute marshmallow squirrel boy

I like Marshal, but I think a big part of his appeal was his interior design. which you could obtain through your villagers back then.

How do i put this lightly. i don't mind them both. Sure i kicked marshal in using amiibo code in nl (town was emulated) to see how he was so popular. His house, yes the sloppy series made it look he looked lazy. He was wearing the "shirt" design from "anyone" or something like that. He still looked cute like that. You know that specific marshal was selling space. k.k in the re-tail and i was confused how why he decided to sell it when he still played it in his house. I'm not considering buying him just for my island in NH.

Raymond in the other hand. He was my first smug villager in the campsite i was forced to move in. His catchphrase "crisp" make him sound funny. His house looks cool cause he looks like a business man. I like his different colored eyes. I've got used to him. He is the only smug on my island so far. Though i'm not considering selling him, he was just as cute kitty.

This is the perfect comparison for me, because just like with Edward and Jacob, I really care about neither and find them both unappealing lol Like, I can definitely see why they’re wanted by others, but I have no interest myself.

I don't see anything unique about either one. Marshal was in my campsite about a month or two ago, and I had him move onto my island. Not because I liked him, but because I know people like him. Of course if there is an amiibo of him, then it's whatever.

Honestly I feel like a lot of people who like Raymond now, probably also liked Marshal previously in New Leaf. (Let's face it, they're probably just ex-Marshal fans) although I still stan our marshmallow king, may he forever reign.
