I like the paths which are created when walking or running around my town, but every single year, when snow comes, they end totally covered. I have tried to prevent it from happen, but it's impossible. I have tried to load my town lots of times in several days during snow, but I think it's useless.

Do you know a way from prevent it from happen?

Yeah, that's what I thought. I must be the only person in the world who likes the way dirt paths look on my town, and I was guessing if there was a way to speed up the process of grass deterioration.

As I've read winter is the worst season for dirt paths, as snow helps grass to recover faster than other seasons.

I'm trying to make just a little path (about 2x10 or so) in my town and I've been reading about it. For the "maintenance", you should just keep running over the paths like 2-3 minutes, save and exit, and do it again for another 2-3 min. In my case is easier because I only want a small path, but I don't know how big are yours...

I'm not sure about tricks to speed it up, though running helps wear grass down faster. I think it might help you run over the same spots again and again if you line your paths with shrubs or flowers, so you'll know where to go. It's pretty tricky to keep dirt paths since the weather or not taking certain routes for a while can make them fade, maybe someone else can help you if there are any time travelling tricks. It may help if you search for dirth paths, I just did that and found this thread through there are more: http://www.belltreeforums.com/showt...ve-been-thinking-about-creating-natural-paths

If you want a permanent dirt path, you could just use patterns that look like a dirt path by making your own or finding some qr codes.

If you want to keep your dirt path, just place a temporary pattern over your dirt path before it snows and keep it there until one month after spring starts, then remove the paths. Pattern paths don't get covered by snow, so in a way, you won't lose your paths or your way.

Seems like the upkeep on dirt is pretty high if you don't use a pattern. Kind of funny if you think about it :P

Hmmm, I haven't tried that. Are you sure it works? I haven't heard that, but I guess I should give it a try. Have you done that? Did it work?

It does work, as pattern paths don't get covered by snow, so you're always walking along the same path. The patterns do not prevent grass erosion. I placed paths before the snow started, then decided to readjust my paths and noticed the natural dirt path after I removed the pattern. Just make sure to walk along all the paths so you don't lose them, then remove the pattern paths (by 'kicking' them with your foot and not by deleting the pattern), a bit after the snow stops.
