The second wave of Splatoon amiibo may be coming soon, which includes Octoling, Callie and Marie.

bear in mind this came from twitter, so it very well could be fake, but I did a quick scan of their account and they seem to be fairly legit. (they also talk about some other stuff like playable octoling [tho i think that was known for a while now??] but i stopped caring about splatoon a while ago so idc about anything but amiibo)

Hm, for lack of shadow and perspective on the Octoling, it looks pretty fake.
Considering the box and base are both facing more to the left, as she alone is facing us.

It also seems to be rendered pretty poorly, but I could be wrong on that.
Now, I do not play splatoon very much anymore, so I don't know how they go about presenting their amiibos, but this seems really fake/questionable.

yeah i have to agree, coz she has a very similar pose to the inkling girl amiibo (and the actual graphic itself looks dodgy) so it could very easily be an edit. but with that said, they do have a lot of other stuff from on their twitter, and they also were the one who i believe leaked the mario maker/splatoon cross content stuff, so they at least have some decent hacking/data mining ability.

It does look pretty fake, but if it is, I hope Nintendo sees this and comes up with it.

It does look a bit fake. Moreover, if they released an Octoling amiibo, why wouldn't they stick to the distinct Octoling outfit?

I'd say it's fake. It looks like someone just changed the data for the inkling girl amiibo to the octoling data (like the hack showing the playable octolings) I say this because the octoling model clips through a lot of the inkling stuff. Such as the chest clipping through inkling shirts. I'm sure if Nintendo made it official, they would alter it so the clothes fitted the octoling model. :/

I named all 3 of my amiibo, since the game kinda made me, but I don't remember if their name shows up like that. I suppose I could check tomorrow.

The names you give them are shown on-screen when you scan them. I named all 3 of mine "Onklong" (Adding male and female symbols for their respective gender, and a star for the squid) and it displayed their name as Onklong for me.

In my opinion, this picture is far from real since it looks like an octoling's head pasted right onto the female inkling's body. But I don't doubt the possibility of these new amiibos! It would be nice if they released more.
