Splatoon 1 and Mario Kart 8 (Wii U) are finally coming back online

Not sure how many people still care about this but I figured I’d make a post in case it makes someone’s day.

Splatoon 1 and Mario Kart 8’s (Wii U) online servers were shut down back in March 2023 due to a vulnerability and are finally coming back tonight (August 2nd 2023 at 9pm EST).

I sold my copy of MK8 a while ago since I have Deluxe now as they are the same game with only a ton more content in Deluxe, but I do know of people who only have a Wii U so I’m glad it’s back for them. I still have Splatoon 1 though so I’m happy I’ll be able to play it again!

Wait I didn't know this oMG? I never enjoyed Splatoon 2 and 3 like I did Splat 1, I guess now I have plans for tonight ehehe

Yesss! I had finally got splatoon 1 again right before the servers went down and I couldn’t play for a long time. Now I have been playing on the old save I’ve had since middle school!
