I'm plot resetting Kid Cat to be next to tom (Its cute to have the little fun kid next to the grown man trying to get him to have fun haha) But he won't plot there? He's only been plotting near retail, or under Gabi..

Villagers are stubborn like that. Just keep trying as long as you're sure he CAN plot there.

I wanted Hamphrey next to Apple, but he refused to go there (stubborn little brat :P) I finally settled on him being near her house, but quite a bit further back from it than I wanted him to be. I just couldn't stand to try any longer.

Good luck with getting Kid Cat to cooperate :) But, remember, cooperating with humans is just NOT something a cat will willingly do :P

Nope, completely open space. Tom is a bit up from the river diagonal from the bridge on the left. (on top)

Hah, thank you! I'm determined to get him there. x3

That's so odd. I wonder if there's just spaces where a villager won't plot. There's a spot on my map which I've never had someone plot into and it's been two years. It's large enough but nobody seems to want to plot there.

I've noticed that. I'll keep plotting because he just plotted in a new spot.

How does plot resetting work?

On the day that an animal is supposed to move in (make a "Nook Homes", not the actual house yet), make a new character and go through Rover's talk. Then when you get off the train, run around your town and see where the house is being built. Since it isn't there yet, it wont be on your map yet. If it's in a garden of hybrids or trees/area you don't want the house, then reset your game. Since it's a new character, the game hasn't saved yet, and each time you reset, the house will, most of the time, be generated in another area of the town. No Resetti/other reset problems either because it's a new character.

Is there a way to check when a villager plans on moving in?

I'm pretty cautious so I do the plot reset/ new player thing every morning until I've confirmed there's a new villager moving in. Better safe than sorry!

Hey, Shinylatias! Have you tried setting up a pwp plot in one of the areas where they try to move in? I found that really sped up my plot resetting.

Haven't gotten my development permit lol. I just started a new town.

Usually the day after you invite a villager to move in.

YES. Kid Cat finally is moving in on toms row! Now time to get him next to him..

I just came here to look, and just wanted to comment and say your town map is frickin awesome.

I resetted for Biskit for hours, the villagers tend to have popular places when it comes to their houses.
But they will choose other places too, just be patient. Best of luck! :)

Thanks for explaining the plot resetting again. I have done it, but I find I often mess up and "miss" new plots. So I was reflecting on my experiences in plot resetting and I want to know if anyone else has noticed something which I have. When I am plot resetting I find that the 'new character' file very frequently will also spawn a visitor in the town campsite, but if I reset (because there's no new plot to manipulate), when I load my Mayor/main file the camper visitor is usually not there. Coincidence? Or have others noticed this?

Thanks!

I've noticed this too.

I wish there were some rhyme or reason to how the villagers plot re-set...all of my villagers kept trying to plot on the top-half where it is already crowded, with the bottom half of my town completely open! So frustrating :P

Also, congrats on Kid Cat behaving ;>

Villagers tend to plot where the most community is. And thanks!
