Nope, that's only if you've traded a Pokemon across if I recall. Take my Pokemon, for instance. My Sewaddle was level 15 when I fought him, and as I caught Sona on my game, he obeyed my every command.

Hmm, maybe catch an Azurill and when part 2 starts you can train it into an Azumarill? I suggest this because your whole team is weak to Fire types, and a Water type like Azumarill would be a great counter.

yeah i do need a water type but i dont want an azumarill i will wait a lil later in the game to find a better water type

My original thought was to only progress as far as we were offered before beating th gym leader and then progressing further after the 3 days, though, I'm terrible at explaining things so this works too

At the moment, I've just finished challenging the Hiker with the Riolu (after hearing that some people progressed to Virbank, I panicked), though I've gone no further. My team is still as follows:

Sewaddle (Sona), level 15
Azurill (Duster), level 13
