A lot of times I feel like I'm the only person this site that doesn't TT. I just wanted to check and see if there was anyone else that opts not to TT in their saves and why. Personally, I don't do it because I have a ton of free time on my hands and I feel it makes the game more challenging. So does anyone else play without TT and if so, why?

Note: Just wanted to say, I'm not making this thread to offend or challenge or upset anyone that does TT. I'm just curious. So if we could keep this from turning into a hate thread, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks :D

I used to, before I joined this site cx I think it was mostly because I never saw the need to. I haven't been TTing much lately though. Ever since I got my dreamies the most I've done was a couple of hours to get orders from T&T in faster.

I used to not, but I stopped playing for 2 months. I didn't want to come back with one of my villagers moved out, so I've been TTing slowly each day to catch up. Once I catch up to the real date, I'll stop TTing

I do TT a bit, but that's only because I realise I'd never finish my town's development if I didn't. However, once I'm finished, I'll probably give it up.

i only TT backwards if i miss a day, since im pretty busy now and sometimes i just dont feel like playing

nah because i don't think i'd like my messed up town tree history, and also because i didn't want to rush myself into the game. i enjoy taking it one day at a time because real time game.

albeit if i ever have to stop for an extended amount of time, i'll have to TT back to my date if i forget to stop someone from moving.

i don't because i can only play for like 30 minutes a day which is all used on that one day.

I always start out by not TTing, though after several months of playing I guess I just decide it would make the game more fun for me to speed up the processes.

I used to never do it but once I stopped playing on a daily basis I'd realize I'd not played for a few days so I'd go back and try to catch up. Eventually I would get really far behind so that I was never able to catch up, or so I thought. Once I got into the habit of "catching up" by playing multiple days in a row I found myself getting too far ahead. I'm now toward the end of September and not sure what to do about it. I was hoping to be able to get another copy (I used to have two) so I could focus on a second town until I catch up but that doesn't look like it'll happen any time soon. Does it hurt to go back and play days you've already played on another character?

Anyway, my reason is that I've always enjoyed the connection between real time and game time. It just made it feel more interesting to think "Oh, tonight I should go watch the fireworks!" or "Hey, the leaves are changing! It IS getting late in the year, isn't it?"

I TT'd when I frst set my town up because I am impatient and tend to want things "now" lol
One of my friends who bought the game and 3DS at the same time as me was quite alarmed to see how quickly I progressed with all the upgrades, etc. She at first was against TTing because she wanted to take a more "purist" approach to the game and follow the calendar day to day. I reminded her that Nintendo built the feature into the game and so playing it that way is totally up to to choice!
I chose to TT and now so does she! :D
That being said, I much prefer to stay on calendar, and play day to day, now that I have my town and Dreamies pretty much established ... and besides, this way your turnips don't spoil! :lemon:

For the first 5 months or so, I didn't TT at all either. I was really strict with myself about it. I waited until my last Gracie check, and after that I started TT-ing. I think it was more exciting that way, I had to WAIT and anticipate shop upgrades and all kinds of other things...it made it more challenging for sure, but also more exciting.

Once I started TT-ing, I haven't stopped. But also, to be fair, I would have gotten bored at that point if I didn't TT. My daily routine got really short, and I wouldn't have been able to do a lot of the things I wanted to do without TT-ing, like moving villagers in and out, changing their houses, their clothes, collecting everything, online trades, etc.

All of that is TECHNICALLY possible without TT-ing, I guess...but it would take years. Also, I reset a lot. Basically, I don't feel bad about it, because I played straight for a long time, and experienced that. Then I started TT-ing and resetting once my gameplay changed and that was an experience too. So I'm happy with my choices and happy with how my town has turned out because of those choices. :)

You're definitely not alone in this. I don't TT simply because I wouldn't enjoy playing my game that way. I really like that it's based on real life time, makes the game feel.. well, more realistic. :)

I didn't time travel in New Leaf for a long time - I now have a time travel town and a non-time travel town. I like not time travelling because its nice playing the game in real time and its exciting waiting for public works projects to be completed and events to happen and I think it makes the things that happen more exciting knowing you cant just load up the game any old day and do them.

But on the other hand I like having a time travel town because i feel like it allows more creativity being able to do things when you feel like it, being able to do the money cheat if I want to so I don't have to be short on bells, complete public works projects as quickly as I like - and if I want to re landscape something its much easier not having to wait for things to be demolished (although I recently found out that if you make a temporary villager, you can just place their house on a PWP to demolish it instantly for free, then delete the character). So yeah, benefits both ways :)

I don't time travel. I like that the game progresses in real time and that the seasons and holidays reflect our own.

My game is a day ahead because I screwed up the initial things and I couldn't get my fishing rod. Other than that I don't plan on TT. I like the real progression of the game.

Personally I find time traveling boring and stressful. I just play day-to-day. It takes 10-20 mins tops. If I time traveled, I would probably fall behind on schoolwork and it would NOT be good.
I do time travel a day backwards sometimes. For example, if I forget to buy from Redd's tent. But that's pretty much the only occasion that I'll time travel.

City Folk, on the other hand..I find that game kind of boring, and since I have it checked out from the library, I go crazy TTing to holidays, and just messing around, haha.

I do very light tting. Like i can only play at night so if i dont tt back, shops would never be open, i could never buy turnips, etc. But other then that, i do not tt. I use to tt very heavily in city folk, and after a while, i did not feel connected to my town at all. This time around, i didnt tt, i achieved things really slowly, and a year later, i am still playing every day. The 3ds is great! Its perfect for the commute on the train. I really hope they dont release another version of it on a stationary unit. That would be disappointing.

I don't time travel, I'm afraid of screwing something up. I don't plot reset or anything I just let things fall where they may lol. Back in WW I used to time travel all the time though.
