They are free,the amount of coins you earn for registering a game is close to the price the game is.Like a game for the Wii is 40 coins and that's around the basic price for a Wii game in America($40).So it's sorta Like a buy one get one free concept.
What's wrong with the pins? I think they're pretty cool. They're no worse than the last two Platinum Club Nintendo prizes (Mario hat and Mario figurine).
Besides, it's free. I know, I know, you have to buy games and register them in order to get the gift, so you're still paying for something, but it's not like you're buying the games you buy just for Club Nintendo gifts. At least we get something. And it's a pretty cool something, even if it's not much. And Nintendo's one of the very few companies who actually gives away free gifts like this for their loyalty program. Hell, many companies don't even have a loyalty program. You should be happy with what you're getting, and if you're not...well, it's not like you lost any money to it. Sell it on eBay and make money from it. =p
