Perfect spot for a house?

My map has the mayor's office and Re-tail very close together; you can reach one or the other in just a few steps. I placed my house near these two because I like the 'city' feel, having my house and other establishments (eventually the coffee shop and police station) very close together. I plan on building my map similar to a city as well; one area will hold all the shops and more 'modern', or more 'futuristic' projects, and then across the bridge (where no homes are located, oddly enough) will be the more natural area, like a park, picnic area, etc.

I put my mayor's house in between the cliff and the river so nobody can move in front of me. >:U It's also near a waterfall which is nice.

I didn't know where to put my house at first, but I liked the beach and the location seemed like it was somewhat isolated from the other villagers enough but close enough to town hall for me to work. Then again, that kinda was my downfall since for some of my villagers decided to move in front or behind me anyways lol
My town map is actually in my sig, so convenient, right?

I put mine in a litte area between river/waterfall and cliff, that way i can hear waterfall from one side, waves from another, and occasionally both at the same time; it sounds amazing. I also like it cause its in its own little area away from everyone (except for the super annoying bull villager who decided to be my neighbor)

I actually wanted to be playful with my town and scattered everything everywhere XD
I just don't like seeing an empty spot :P

I put my house just in front of the river, with the Town Hall behind me, so I can get there quickly (Re-tail is also just on the right of Town Hall) and so that no one will be able to move in front of me.

Boone and Rowan have moved right next to me though; they sandwiched my house, but as long as they're not blocking my door I'm good. :p

I put mine near the beach, right in front of a river and close to Re-Tail. I like it a lot, it works out well for me. Not close to the Town Hall, but I hardly ever go there anyway. I've been abusing my Mayoral powers to build a bridge, cafe and police station really really close to me as well.

At the time it was far, far away from all the villagers houses, but I think the game figured out I was trying to be anti social because in the ten months I've been playing this game, only one villager hasn't moved close to my house (I don't plot re-set, no patience). But by some miracle nobody has moved in front of me yet.

When I started the game, I didn't know that if you built your house near the sea you could hear the waves from inside your house, so my mayor's house is in a random location that I liked at the time. If I'd known about it, I would have put it near the beach.

In my first town my house has a curved river surrounding the back and sides so I got my own area.
In my second town I have a cliff in front of me and a river behind me. That way no villagers can move in front or behind me. Something that happened alot in my first town till I put up two illuminated hearts.

I chose my house location because it was by the river, close to the retail, and a short walk from Main street. I was very methodical about it. :)

My house is at the top left corner of the map. Here's why I thought it was a good place. :)

1. By the town hall
2. By the beach/ocean. Which makes an amazing view when I start up the game and all.

I placed my house near a cliff by the beach, that way, no one will plot their house in front of mine. I also like being close to the beach since I tend to beetle farm.

I put my mayor's house near a river. I personally like listening to water move around, it relaxes me. There's also plenty of room for neighbors near my mayor's house. I have Sprinkle right next to it, and probably Fang soon!

Mayor's house is in front of a pond, which I think is a nice way to make some scenery, and my alt's house is near the waterfall, where I was able to make a nice wildflower meadow leading up to her door :)

My mayor's house is right next to a little pond. I thought it was a good spot at the time. It's a good 7 steps from the cliff; close, but not so far away that I can really do much with that area.
Of course, my villagers just had to move in around me. Fang is to my right, Fuchia is NW to me, Eloise is right behind Fuchia, Beardo is north of me, Merengue is NE. Static is southwest of me. I'm not sure why they like that area so much... maybe because I'm there :)
