Hi! I have developed a villager moving guide which can get you your dreamies faster! **I didnt know where to put this thread but since it has to do with getting/trading villagers, it seems like a good spot here**
Okay here it is!:
This is sort of a lengthy post but worth it if you?re trying to get your dream town! Make sure to read it all thoroughly and recognise that I am not responsible for mess ups! You do this at your own risk!
Now that that?s over with, let us begin!
If you want to use this guide you must either:
Just had a villager move in!
Just had a villager move out!
Someone asked you to move, but you declined!
If any of those occurred, keep reading!
ONE: Our first step is time travelling 4 days ahead. Trust me on this. No one will move in or out or want to move since someone JUST did one of those things recently, as you confirmed earlier. The game gives you somewhat of a free period where no one leaves or enters, so it is okay to go 4 days ahead.
TWO: Locate a snooty or smug villager in your town. Talk to them about 10 times. Do they mention anyone moving out? They may say ?So and so is thinking of moving! You might want to check on her/him.? That is the easiest way to know if someone is moving. Many people use the ping! method, but it takes too long and can be risky. Let?s say your snooty villager doesnt mention anyone moving. Try to talk to other snooty/smug villagers as well to see if they have anything to say. If none of them mention anyone moving, just speak to any villager multiple times.
ONCE, I SPOKE TO ANKHA 10 TIMES AND LIONEL 10 TIMES AND THEY DIDN?T SAY ANYONE WAS MOVING. THEN I TALKED TO MERENGUE ABOUT 3 TIMES AND SHE TOLD ME MARINA WAS THINKING OF LEAVING!
^That is why it is important to check, double check, and triple check. You never know who can be moving. If you feel uneasy, you can just check on your favourites manually.
THREE: If someone you dont want to move wants to move, tell them to stay. If you want them to move, let them and they will be TTed out when you go back to the correct date. However, if no one is moving, time travel ahead one day and repeat the speaking to villagers part. You can continue to do this until someone asks to move.
PRO-TIP: TTing back in Animal Crossing only counts as one day no matter how far you go. If I set my time to January 15th, 2012, the villagers would act as if I had only been gone for a day. HOWEVER, be careful with this because time travelling forward does count day by day and you wouldnt want to TT forwards 2 years!
FOUR: This method is very efficient because if someone asks to move (let?s say Fauna) and you say no, that means someone asked to move. That was a requirement in the beginning. So, now, after they ask to move and you decline, you can TT AHEAD 4 days without anything happening. And from here you can repeat the cycle. While doing this technique for a short period of time, 5 villagers asked to move. It?s a good way to seclude the ones you want to leave.
THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO REMEMBER IS THE FACT THAT:
IF YOU AREN?T VERY THOROUGH WITH CHECKING WHO IS MOVING, SOMEONE WILL MOVE WITHOUT YOU KNOWING.
EVERY TECHNIQUE HAS SOME FLAWS. I HAVE HAD A 100% SUCCESS RATE SO FAR, BUT YOU MIGHT NOT AND SHOULD ALWAYS BE EXTRA CAREFUL.
So, you might now be wondering?
I finally got that horrible villager out but?I want a new, better villager!
So, fret not. This is how to get your faves with only very little time travelling.
You will need
An open fourth character (which means you cant have used them all already)
Only NINE villagers
Some spare time
A campsite
ONE: Load up your main player and set the time to 5:58 AM before the next day. As soon as you get on, save and quit.
TWO: Hit ?New Save File.? This will create a new character. Dont worry, you can delete them soon. You can fill in a random name or whatever, they wont matter soon. Once you enter the town, you will see whether or not the campsite is occupied.
THREE: IF THE CAMPSITE ISNT OCCUPIED?Go to home screen and dont save. Then do step one and two over again until there is a camper (sometimes setting the time to a completely different day will better your chances, this hasnt been tested much)
FOUR: IF THE CAMPSITE IS OCCUPIED?Great! Look inside?is it someone you want? If so, dont do anything. Exit the campsite and go to Isabelle and put your house somewhere where you dont care for it. It will be destroyed soon. Save and quit. Load up that character and destroy their home. If you load your main that camper is still there! Ask them to move in
If you dont get someone you want just go to home screen, without saving. Start up the game again, new save file. I am almost positive you wont need to TT anymore, but there should be a new camper in the site. You can continue this until desired outcomes
SO THERE, NOW YOU CAN GET VILLAGERS OUT AND MOVE YOUR BESTIES IN!
Leave replies if you have questions!
*Btw I'm looking for Marshal and if you would sell him to me I would love you*
If you want to read the post in a more organised format, here is my tumblr with the original post.
Good luck!
