I'd love to have some dirt paths in my town, but I'm worried that I won't be able to maintain them very well. I'm trying to settle for a compromise between pattern paths for main roads and dirt paths for side trails, but we'll see how that goes.
I love dirt paths, they look so natural and beautiful if you actually do the correctly, but I don't have the patience to do one. I might get around to it one day but as of now I have a random path that I found online.
I don't personally have a dirt path, but I've thought about having one many times. It looks the nicest and most natural of all paths, but considering all of the work it takes to have one and keep one, not to mention you can't easily remove it, I've opted for QR-code paths. I just don't like how blocky the patterned paths are, which is why I'm thinking about using mushrooms/clovers/flowers for a path, but it might look tacky.
oh hey! i'm pretty sure it was my town you visited, i do indeed have dirt paths and thank you! It did take quite a lot of work to complete my dirt paths. I think it took me a little over a month and one week??? it was worth it though, i love my town way more now than before. I used to have patterned paths, but i never really felt satisfied with them, i had always liked the natural look of dirt paths, which is why i decided to try and make them. This guide by elle really helped me in case you were planning on creating dirt paths. Her town and the town of Zwirner really inspired me when creating my dirt paths. It does take quite a bit of time to make dirt paths. contrary to what others have said, it is not that hard to maintain them once you actually have completed them. Creating them is what is the tougher part. i do happen to have a lot of free time though, so that's just my opinion on the subject. if you happen to have any more questions on dirt paths, feel free to pm me.
They are pretty cool, even though I would never do them myself. I don't have the time and am too lazy to actually make them. If it was simple and didn't take FOREVER, I totally would have included them in my town instead of the pattern paths. Whenever I visit dream towns and see them, I think "Wow, this person actually had enough time to create these paths, they're a pretty rad guy/gal."
I may do them eventually, but it'll take me longer than most people, since I'll probably just get bored and forget about it. Then I'll remember and go back to it. That'll be my never ending cycle of making dirt paths haha.
