One feature that I don't think is ever coming back that would be cool...

Journals/Diaries from the gamecube game. People could use them now to write stories/little scenarios on dream islands. On creepy islands, you could have journals showing a character slowly going insane or having a foreboding feeling about something bad happening. They could be used for literally any kind of story telling though!

Unfortunately, with them being absent for almost 20 years now and Nintendo being Nintendo in terms of online communication... I think there's nearly zero chance of this ever happening. But I love thinking about what people would do with it!

Man, I don't remember that or barely do and I started with the gamecube version of animal crossing. I had to look it up and it's similar to the bulletin board other than being a journal in your home. It's kind of weird that we don't have any calendar in this game and we just have to remember things on our own (not that it's hard or anything).

I never used them in the gamecube game, because it was just me and my brother who would ever be able to read them, but now with online I could see getting way more mileage out of them!

I played it a little but don’t remember it at all. I would love it as well . At least we have the blue journal - it’s a lost item, but can be used as decoration kinda .

I would love if that came back! I would probably mainly use it to keep track of my villagers that have come and gone. Especially now that they don't write goodbye letters.

Yeah, we're probs never getting those back. Nintendo is way too uptight with the family friendliness, so fat chance they'd give us something longer than a bulletin post to write on.

I'd love to see the journals come back. Back in the day when I had my childhood creativity, I would make up so many stories about me and my villagers in that thing.

Oh wow. I didn't play back then so I didn't know about this feature. It sounds like a great place to build lore about your island. They should bring it back.

I'd love to see this come back! Even more so if we could freehand draw in it like the bulletin board. It would make a great lore builder and general time capsule.
Last time I checked on my Gamecube village I looked at my journal, lil 7 year old me wrote about his crush on Bones the Dog.

I totally remember the journals from the gamecube version. I never used them lol, but I definitely wouldn't mind them making a reappearance.

I only played ACNL and now ACNH so i don't know this diary from the game cube, but for me, from the previous game what I actually miss is difficult to pin to only one thing, however, I would love to have a come back of the "weather forecast box we had" I wished it would come back to the Nook Mile Store. I loved to go there all the time to see what the weather would be in the following hours, i found it somehow super fun hahaha and also useful!

Also i say I would like for it to come in the Nook Mile store, because i feel like its become so dull, I am accumulating so many tickets or points that i am not even using anymore cause the store has always the same thing. I wished we had more updates or upcoming things for that store too.

Reminds me of letters I wrote to villagers in WW, I used to put a lot of thought and write a lot out to my villagers often, even though the responses were just kind of just auto-generated. I wish I could go back and see what I wrote to them. I think in NL there was a feature that villagers would randomly show you letters you sent them.

Yes there was ! it was a cute feature and it brought also more dialogues that also appeared more fleshed out and not so empty so to say .

It's sad but I don't think I'll ever feel as invested with writing to my villagers as I was in WW... I sent a few letters in NH, but I'm not a fan of typing on the screen without a stylus and they will send you letters regardless. It also didn't cost bells to send letters.

This would be so cute to have back! If other people are able to read your journals, that would open up a lot of possibilities for dream islands! There would be a lot of use for it, from cute stories to horror themed island possibilities.

Journals were such a neat little feature, I did use mine for writing stories back in the day. It would be very fun to have them back but I too never ever see it happening, lol
