I agree, I didn't think the books were all that bad.Rogar said:I read the books and thought it was quite good, maybe you are blinded by all the people saying "OMG TWILIGHT SUCKZORS"[Nook said:,Dec 4 2010, 12:04:20 AM]I read the first few chapters.L Lawliet said:I doubt you even read it.[Nook said:,Dec 3 2010, 06:32:27 PM]Twilight.

Hey, I like to go above and beyond. These books are mostly on the list of my AP English Extra Credit, except Lightning Thief and To Kill A Mockingbird. I think these books are not too advanced but actually at my reading level. I don't find them hard or advanced. Everyone reads at a different pace. Just because I'm thirteen doesn't mean I can't read these books and still understand them. I'm in English Honors Society and all that stuff and I'm pretty sure I'll have no problems with these books. Now excuse me, I have a book to read.D1llon said:No offense but your 13 years old and some of these books on the list are pretty advanced. It is one thing to read the book but it is another to fully understand it and give an accurate rating. I'm not sure about How to Kill a Mockingbird (I've never picked it up) but I know for a fact that 1984 will go at a pretty slow pace and uses an different colloquialism from most books you've probably read (it also introduces a different language :/ ). I tried reading it and I knew I wasn't ready to read the book after the first chapter. Can I suggest you replace 1984 with the book Fahrenheit 451? It has a similar concept but it is much easier that 1984. Also, Fahrenheit 451, was one of the summer reading books for my honors English class. If your still looking for something by George Orwell try Animal Farm, I loved that book and I'm sure mostly anyone will too.

1)- Your school offers honor societies for 9th graders..?Olivia said:Hey, I like to go above and beyond. Under my circumstances, my school district has allowed me to take advance placement classes mmkay? I will say it one more time, I pretty sure I will have no problems reading these books.D1llon said:1)- Your school offers honor societies for 9th graders..?Olivia said:Hey, I like to go above and beyond. 2)- Lord of the Rings and Scarlett Letter seem like they would be in your level
3)- People go into AP classes when seniors, and in AP classes you do college work. You're basically telling me 1984 is an AP level book! You have no idea how high my doubt is for you reading this book successfully. I'm sure you're smart and a good reader but try a book maybe at a different level, the books I mentioned are pretty advanced would be impressive. If you still are thinking about reading it good luck I guess, I highly suggest you take notes though (that's what I did when reading part of it).
Okay we'll see about it after I finish all of the other ones.Psychonaut said:browsing through my EXTENSIVE, MASSIVE, ENORMOUS book collection, you must read east of eden.
grapes of wrath sucked, but east of eden is so much awesome after you get going.
DAT BOI JOHN STEINBECK
You WOULD try to start an argument. I was literally trying to help her and refrain her from what could end up be wasting her time.L LAwliet said:I'm sure she's more capable of understanding advanced books than you.
So your school is letting you take courses with college work in them......I'm just going to nod my head yes. Good luck with your reading!Olivia said:Under my circumstances, my school district has allowed me to take advance placement classes mmkay? "The Advanced Placement (AP) program is a curriculum in the United States sponsored by the College Board which offers standardized courses to high school students that are generally recognized to be equivalent to undergraduate courses in college. Participating colleges grant credit to students who obtained high enough scores on the exams to qualify"D1llon said:You WOULD try to start an argument.
