Ok, I Need A Memory Refresher...

Sooooo apparently when starting a new town, I've forgotten what constitutes talking to Blathers. I know there are three conditions to unlock the second floor of the museum:

1. Donate 20 things to the museum

2. Of the 20 donations, one MUST be a fish, one MUST be an insect, one MUST be a fossil and one MUST be a painting or statue. The remaining sixteen items can be any mix of those.

3. You must talk to Blathers every day, and donating something doesn't count as talking to him.

But, whenever I go to the museum, only thee options pop up: Make A Donation, Assess A Fossil and Nothing. So what exactly, constitutes JUST talking to him? I should have double checked this before I started my new town. T.T

I've never heard the whole "must talk to blathers everyday" thing. I don't think there's any way to casually talk to Blathers.

I always thought it was just 20 donations, one of each category. Then eventually you'll go in there and he'll have the thinking emote going and then he suggest the second floor.

Well the sources I was looking at said "You must talk to Blathers" every day. I found a second source that said something completely different: "You must be in town for 14 days." I'm assuming that means he'll suggest the project two weeks after the town's creation OR you must play every day for 14 consecutive days.

Either way, since I'm in the early stages of my town, I'll probably play every day just to start squaring my mortgage payments away and getting some of the Bell Spending goals (like spending 8,000 at the Able Sisters to build Kicks) out of the way for quicker Main Street Development.

Yeah I wasn't quite sure either so just to be safe, I donated at least one item to him every day and it worked well!

Hooboy, I'm in trouble then. With the exception of fossils, I've donated quite a bit. Unless some rare fish I have yet to catch come along, I may not be doing the Donate Every Day bit. :/ Just as long as I get my second floor. I can't wait to build The Roost in my town.

You don't have to talk to him every day.

What I do is make sure that I pop to the museum each day when he's normally awake to see if he's thinking. It's frustrating waiting, I feel your pain!
