Odd villager moving scenario, anybody experienced this yet?

So, Jacques asked me to move today, so he'll be in boxes tomorrow...but today was also the 2nd visit for Shep via amiibo card...so I'm wondering IF I invite Shep again tomorrow, will he just take Jacques plot or will it let me choose to evict a second villager and have two in boxes on the same day?

I wouldn't mind two new villagers, so I'm thinking unless anybody has concrete info, I'll play it safe and not invite Shep again until I've replaced Jacques via island hopping.

I haven't tried it myself, but I would imagine, since using an amiibo with a full town will put a villager in boxes, having one in boxes already would have the amiibo just claim that plot. So, if you want a non-amiibo villager to move into Jacques's spot, I think you should wait until that happens before inviting an amiibo in.

Better safe than sorry, is my thinking.
