Obama thinks entertainment is bad

It's funny how he left out Wii. Probably because it's a known fact that he has a Wii and plays it. XD

We can't stop these changes, but we can stop Obama's changes. It's called a gun.

Also, he's just pissed because he proclaimed himself tech-savy earlier on, yet, he can't even work an iTouch.
Erm, you do know that that's the sort of thing that get's people locked up right? o.O

Sigh I kinda see what he means, but it does come off wrong... I mean when you have a plethora of info at the tips of your fingers, how often do you check what is actually true? How often do you think about what would happen if you did something in real life that you just did in a game? Either way I chalk it up to the fact that he is older than my parents... and honestly they said the same sorts of things, don't let your entertainment distract your studies too much. I mean there are plenty of situations I see people doing something like tetris on a laptop in class, and there is a point it is just a distraction from what you need to succeed in life, but there is a good moderation, and technology more importantly can be used for amazing things, one of which is a new way to share a story and play a game.

He was just using a few examples, you can even see him stop and think after each electronic device he said.

He did say though it wasn't meant to be thought out like that. But there has been somebody who has threaten to kill Obama and showed off his Barrett .50 Cal.

But what I think he was trying to say that to much entertainment is bad for your health and all and possibly didn't mean that you shouldn't have entertainment.

But entertainment really is bad.

Especially TV nowadays and the internet and violent video games.

I love them all though.

Or he could secret live in another country... not the US and then it wouldn't be the law ;D

Also... Seeing as he didn't name any of the gaming platforms that support AC as "entertainment"... *runs off and plays* XD

So then he's a hypocrite, because everything else he listed are devices made for entertainment, just like the Wii.

We know this.

Anything can be bad; it just depends on how you look at it.

Video games and TV are a part of our culture, like I said, but it's a shame our culture leads to the stereotype of "fat, overweight Americans". I agree with having entertainment in moderation, but living in it 24/7 (unless you're part of entertainment, like actually on TV) is a bit too much.

Jesus, now you make my parents seem old. He's 48... my parents are 60.

I found an article saying that both of his daughters had Wiis, but never that he had an Xbox 360. I find it a little annoying that you choose an offhand joke made in a speech compared against a vague claim that someone read somewhere that "the White House has [...] a 360." to accuse someone of hypocrisy, let alone the president.
I don't care who he is. Was it really a joke? I was never informed of this bit of information, and didn't care to research it so I just post my thoughts.

Why do you highlight 360 in your post so much?
Because he never actually said "Wii" in the video, that's why.

And one sure way to figure out if something is intended as a joke is whether or not it evokes laughter.
I didn't watch the video, everything I have said has come from reading this topic.

wait.... of crap, I mean my mom is his age right now... and my dad is still a little younger... so 48 and 46, I don't remember my mom getting past mid forties cause I am never home now lol.

I get the feeling that half of the people that posted in this topic didn't actually watch the video, and the rest blew it completely out of proportion.
