I've been playing New Horizons for 28 consecutive days. I've purchased well over 70,000 bells worth of merchandise from Nook's Cranny. What does Isabelle say this morning? "There aren't really any announcements today." What happened to the announcement that Nook's Cranny would be expanding?

According to the official guidebook the store has to be open for at least 30 days and you need to do 200,000 worth of bell transactions there (buying or selling). And remember it isnt 30 days of playtime its 30 days of the shop being open.

All of us who meet the criteria should start seeing the nooks cranny upgrades starting sometime next week (assuming we all began on March 20 and hasnt time traveled).

You likely wont see the shop until the beginning of May then. Those of us who began on release day and havent time traveled will start seeing upgrades next week.

I forget when exactly the shop opened (I'm just gonna say 4 days after I started my island). So March 24th. 30 days from the shop opening would be April 23rd so around that date I should see the shop upgrade announcement since I'm sure I've bought and/or sold over 200,000 worth of stuff.

If your shop opened around April 3rd the 30 day mark will be around May 3rd.

If it helps at all, I started playing on March 20. According to my journal for the game, Nook's Cranny opened on March 22. I wasn't rushing, that's just when it happened. So according to that guide, I should see my upgrade on Wednesday or Thursday of next week.

Taking from that, I think EvilTheCat will get the upgrade in a little over 2 weeks from now.

Yes it was a typo. I meant to say March 20. I started playing on the day it launched. Also I know I spent more then 70,000 bells but I'm not sure if I spent 200,000 or less at the store. I don't buy everything up. The occasional stuff I want, stuff for Hoard Reward (I'm on the final stamp) and mostly tools for Mystery Tours (nets, shovels and axes) but I stopped counting after I hit the 70,000 mark.

The 70,000 number was just a rumor and not confirmed.

It needs to be 200,000 worth of bell transactions. You may have not spent 200,000, but you def sold over 200,000 just by playing. So you should be good for when the 30 day mark comes by.

I hope so. I remember when the game first came out the official Wiki said "Buy and/or sell 200,000 bells worth at the store." Eventually it changed to say "You must buy 70,000 bells worth of merchandise from Nook's Cranny." but said nothing about making money by selling to them.

Then Polygon said "You need to wait 28 days. As to whether or not you have to meet a target amount of bells, we don't know." So the information has been all over the place. I haven't check if the wiki has changed again or not, but as long as selling stuff to them counts I'm more then good.

I sold over 200,000 bells worth of items within the first week, maybe week and a half? I tossed whatever shells, fish, weeds, fruit, bugs and the like at them and kept a strict tally. I'll just wait until Isabelle makes the announcement (unless there is no announcement and it just happens).

Likely needs to be 28 days since Nook's Cranny was built to get the upgrade prompt, and then 30 days total for the grand opening.
