No Turkey Day

the villagers has been talking about it for days and the billboard had posts and stuff but turkey day just... didn't happen?

i've got a few reasons i think it might be:
-I'm in the UK
-I had no internet
-A villager was moving in
-Label was in the plaza

which of these do you guys think this might be? i was gutted to miss the event

I would imagine it’s because you have no internet. The event was set to unlock on Nov 26 but the only way the Switch would know the actual date is for you to have internet.

UK location doesn’t matter. It’s a global event. Villager moving in wouldn’t matter. Label wouldn’t be there if Turkey Day worked.

But Turkey Day was yesterday Is your Switch set to yesterday date ?

I've read that this problem could be solved turning off the Switch.

But maybe the Internet is required too

I'm only posting today because I've only just now got internet, i was on there yesterday. i don't like to time travel but i might break the rules for this event

There were a couple other threads like this yesterday, I believe the solution is to make sure your update version has an "a" at the end of the number (1.6.0a or something like that I think is the current version). I think going into the eshop and back out triggers the mini update.

The DIYs should all be available now at Nook's Cranny.

If it's any consolation, you're far from the only person this happened to; a lot of people are mentioning having the same problem on twitter. They must've messed something up with this update as that many people can't be a coincidence.

It was definitely the fact that you didn't have internet. The 1.6.0 update added the content to the game but you needed the later "mini" 1.6.0a update to actually activate the event in game.

I don't typically time travel either but in your case I think its fair to go back the one day as it wasn't something you were able to control.

You should be able to buy the Turkey Day DIY set at Nook's, today. Then you'll just be missing the wall, floor, rug, and cornucopia.

Hello my name is Dorichan, a 63 year oldster who gratefully received AC from my family 4 weeks ago. Best gift in my entire life! Sadly, Turkey Day never showed up on my Island and we couldn't figure out what went wrong. We have the latest updates & connected to the internet. My son, who lives with us, had no problem. Franklin showed up on his game, but not mine! Can anyone help us figure out what went wrong? I want to participate in all the Festivities. Thank you.

As with nearly all past events, you must have internet access to unlock the event when it's time to begin. Just a heads up for Toy Day and future events
