Does anyone else chose not to include a police station in their town?

From the beginning, the police station was one of those PWPs I just had to somehow figure out how to integrate into my town (same with the cafe and campsite). But I've also always thought that both designs, classic and modern, were hideous and I only had a station in town because I thought the town wouldn't be "complete" without it. I'm debating whether or not I should just do without a police station in my new town because I'm running out of space and I can't seem to make it look nice anywhere. I guess that's one of the reasons why I've never made the reset centre either...

Are there any downsides to not having a police station? (other than never seeing Booker or Copper around) Also, if you don't build a police station, will Booker or Copper never appear as an RV visitor in the campgrounds?

hmm, i put one in but yah with the police station you never have to look around your town for visitors like phineas, gracie(if you havent done that yet) pascal...etc also its like the lost and found! but other than that idk if theres any real reason to have it

I place a lot of items all throughout my town and sometimes when villagers set or there’s a special character coming, these items tend to disappear. I think it’s nice to get the police station and slowly find these items there again.
I think the modern police station looks quite horrible but the other wood colored one is not too bad if you have a foresty town or a zen town.

If I remember correctly, either Booker or Copper will only appear on the campground when
you have the police station in your town. Depending which police station you have in your
town, the one you didn't choose will appear then there. At least I never got visited by them
before I had the police station. Once I had it then in my town (I choosed Booker's station),
Copper started to appear then often at my campground.

As for the other question: I chose to have the police station in my town because I had
often the problem that my town felt so...Empty? At least I was glad when I had more
houses or buildings in my town and I was always happy whenever a villager suggested me
the police station. Then again, I was also able to live without it, as I also had towns where
I didn't got the police station suggested by any villager at all. The only thing you would miss
besides having either Copper or Booker in your town, is the Lost and Found part, like where
you can pick up lost items. Also they say which NPC is visiting your town right now (like
Phineas for example). And like I explained earlier, one of them will not appear at your
campground (but again, I'm not 100% sure about this).

i personally only think you should build it if you think it's fun to have it or if you think it's pretty and fits into your town. i think the wooden police station looks good which is why i have built it in my main town. i only play the game to design houses and the town now, if i would play it normally i would probably want a police station because it's fun

I can totally understand why people wouldn't want it; it may only go with so many town themes that are going with something specific.

One of the best things about the police station is that if you accidentally leave items out where something plots; it'll save the items in the station for you. Tricky pitfall seeds also won't spawn either as they only appear in the station. You might miss out on cardboard or sloppy items spawning in there too (this is written as possible, but I've never had it happen in my town).
There's also them saying if there's a visitor as well; not too helpful but somewhat personal.

I chose not to build Resetti's center, but I can't get a single villager to suggest the police station so far.
No pitfall seeds? Now that makes me want to get it even more.

Just the tricky ones! They're purple and gold instead of red and white.
The regular ones will still show up in your town regardless of having a station.

Oh yeah, I forgot about those tricky pitfalls. I actually do enjoy messing around with those! I think for now I'm not going to put a police station in my second town. As much as I'll miss Booker (never had Copper before) at least I have him in my main town. I just don't see how I can incorporate it into my layout at the moment.

I love the police station! I don't visit too often, but I really like having there and being able to pop in and see Booker every now and again :3 I do agree that the modern police station is ugly af though, it looks like a public restroom to me lmao

They both look like public restrooms to me unfortunately. The classic one just looks like a wooden outhouse similar to the ones I used as a kid in the countryside T_T I do like the idea of the police station though. I hope they rework the designs a bit (or make more options) if they will bring them to the switch game!

I think I have a police station in all of my towns but I don't consider it to be a vital part of any of my towns' overall theme.Yeah,the police stations could look a lot better...one looks like an outhouse and the other one looks like a German pillbox from World War II.I do think the police station adds to the sense of public community since the town already has other public buildings like the train station and the town hall.

In 2 of my towns, I have the police station, both the wood one. However in Secret, I'm thinking of not building one. I was gonna add the one that looks like a metal trash can (sorry Copper) but it doesn't match my color theme, and I want variety amongst my towns. Also, because Secret was originally made for a different theme, where I plan on putting it now, I have to squeeze it by some pathwork and the river edge. It doesn't look pretty, I can't even plant any trees on the sides.

Ah, true. They're esthetically problematic, which is why I only have 1 police station out of 7 of my towns. Still, I NEEDed it 'cause or else I can't get some pieces from cardboard set. I don't like buying and would rather enjoy the surprise when I rarely find it in there. Though, I love how cowardly the officer Booker interacts with you. Silly adorable.

Oh and I don't take advantage of using it to find visitors as much as I should, in fact I don't think I ever have as I keep forgetting lol.

I really should have thought about where to put the police station before planting all my trees and flowers T_T Because I do feel like the station makes the town a little livelier too. Usually I like to put it next to the train station or somewhere near town hall, but the problem is my house is near the train station and I don't want the popos to be my neighbour haha.

After thinking through again, I'm going to demolish some PWPs and try to fit the police station in. Now it's bugging me haha!

I've always had one. For my new town I wish I could get Booker, but Copper fits the theme much more. I've also mostly had Copper in past towns.

I think I would always want the police station in my towns just for the additional NPC to interact with. I love Booker and luckily I prefer the aesthetic of his station to Copper's.

But I do see what you mean. Neither station looks really good. It'd be nice to have a few more options. Like can we get a TARDIS, please?
