A console is not a handheld. We are talking about two different markets -- one is largely children, the other is broader. I know these are some sweeping generalizations, but a $150 DS for a kid is easier to swallow than a $250 3DS w/ a screen that has been reported to have detrimental effects for those under a certain age (7, I believe?). This is really aimed at the hardcore gamer, for better or for worse. But again, I couldn't care less -- this thing has some pretty cool games coming out for it, and that's what I care about. Just wish I had time for 'em!

Since when are handhelds only for kids? The DS and Wii share a very, very similar audience. There are just about as many adults who play DS as there are adults who play Wii. And it's not like these kids are buying the 3DS themselves, anyway.

But not the way Nintendo is doing it. Sure, they have the 3D TV, but you still need the glasses for it.

Also, you have the 3D camera, as well as a 3D adjustment setting. Nintendo was also the first to confine it to a handheld.

He probably thinks that the ratings will equal the systems. like, just as many people will buy the 3DS as they did the PS3 which ranked higher than the Wii, which was higher than the 360.
