New Villager Dialogue or Bad luck [Solved]

EDIT: Not new. I just sold a bunch of items and I think Raymond queued up to ping to ask to buy a beetle while off screen

Has this happen to anyone before? Raymond just ran up and "lol jk" me when I had space in my inventory and money. Maybe I just never seen this before or this is part of the "luck" return?

a lot LOL most often they active when u got something they wanna buy but u selling or dropping or storing before meeting them will active this, same as when they have bubble and talking will be " forgot what to say" or sthing like that lol

That's really weird because I just sold a bunch of flower plants and branches.

I don't understand the topic.

As for the dialogue it's even worse after this... 'update'.

The thought bubble and them looking like they want to talk, then nothing.

This is probably a new bug that came with the update. Villagers can ping you, and later say that they forgot or something else but I've never seen this one before. I'm 99% sure this is a bug. Raymond should've responded along the lines of what I said above. Interesting

Sounds about right but it's pretty minor. It was very confusing when I got it and the catchphrase he picked up from Freya does not help at all. It goes along with this dialogue surprisingly well.

Actually a few months ago, Roscoe kinda.... pranked me? He said something really sentimental and it totally was phrased like he was building up to give me a special gift, then he just burst out laughing. It was surprising. I need to see if I can find that clip, I think I saved it. Which I realize now isn't related to what happened with Raymond in your example, now that I rewatched it, so nevermind! Yay, not useful contribution.

This has always happened. I guess sometimes they’ll just forget what they were going to say? I think it kinda does add more life to the villagers, even if it is frustrating

I wasn't really frustrated by it, just more confused. I had this happen when I completely dumped my inventory I guess it just never happened to a smug villager for me until now.
