New Save Data Feature Question (Help Please!)

I recently had to give up my island as I was only borrowing a friends switch. I originally didn't plan on playing so heavily, but next thing I knew I sunk 200 hours into it and then had to return the switch. I knew a save transfer feature was a possibility in the future, so I've been keeping my eyes out. I was very excited to see that this latest update implemented that feature.

It's exactly what I need, the only thing I don't know about is whether I need to log into the same profile as on the original switch in order to transfer the save data between islands. For example: If I created my island on Switch 1 with Profile A, am I able to transfer that same island to Switch 2 on Profile B? Or do I have to transfer it from Switch 1 with Profile A to Switch 2 with Profile A?

I can't take the profile, so I would only be able to transfer islands if I was able to do so with a brand new profile. If anyone has done this yet, I would love to know! Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!​

Hmmm... you will have to wait and see how the new transfer feature works! I know with the old one (the one where you had to contact nintendo and they would transfer it for you) you had to transfer the account you used to make the island first. I'm guessing that you will still need the profile that made the island for this newer feature to work, but not positive!
