I agree with this so much.

Pets are a lot of work and a lot of money. I feel like a lot of people don't realize this which is why it's upsetting when some just choose not to pay vet bills because they're so expensive or give it away when it pees on the carpet or something. You gotta be prepared for the worst or just get a stuffed animal instead.

Not directing this at OP by any means. More so venting. Pets obviously aren't like children but they're almost as bad sometimes. They're a big decision, despite the temptation because they're cute and fun.

I totally agree, I didn’t just wake up and want one. I have always wanted a smaller pet, but just didn’t have the money or space! I have researched smaller pets since I was 8, and I think now is the right time to get a smaller pet.
