Netflix is now coming to the Wii.

In the quest to complete their triumvirate of power on the home console front, Netflix has taken the next step of getting their software into Wii users' hands. The online rental behemoth has shipped out discs containing the software to get Nintendo's little-white-box-that-did hooked up to the Watch Instantly service.

Not everyone is getting theirs right away, though. Only select members have had discs shipped to them as a testing run. The rest of us will get our discs when they're damn good and ready to give them over, which will probably be in the next couple of months but Netflix hasn't confirmed an exact launch date. If you want to be ready when that magical day arrives, you can order a disc from Netflix here

You mean standard output quality? Most people don't even have an HD TV, you know. The quality isn't horrible, it's the same thing people have been watching for years.

Discs until their contract with Microsoft is up. Same with PS3.

Anyways, I think this will actually be good for the Wii. The fact that it's not HD isn't huge because most people can't get HD quality through streaming, unless they have a frickin' T1 line. It's just silly that you need disc, but there's not much they can do about it.

Before they do this crap the Wii needs an UPGRADE.

Unless you're playing on a flatscreen TV, that would be nice but Nintendo has yet to Upgrade their console. The Xbox360 has 3 different versions, and the PS3 has a slim version. Nintendo needs to make a Wii 2.0 or something.
