I loved this puzzle! I've done cryptoquotes my whole life, so this was right up my alley!

bruh I put the puzzle off and was doing it just now and realized it just ended

I ADORE these cipher puzzles SO much!!! This one was a little daunting but the first word being "Greetings" allowed me to fill in the blanks as I began to write out words and solve each letter from there! After a certain point I had every letter solved and it was just finding the answer!

I felt so accomplished getting it right it looked really daunting at first but the more letters you decipher the easier it got and the cryptic sentences just come to you naturally at that point. Suddenly the rest is a breeze. I hope to see more of these in future events!

So I got the answer pretty quick.
I only solved it halfway and knew the answer, and even redeemed the code before finishing the whole thing. Then I tortured myself anyways and completed the whole code because I thought maybe it was a trick, and maybe getting through the end would give me some sort of mystery prize or something for those who wouldn’t leave it half way

So now it's closed I can say this- I worked and figured it out using old methods, then halfway through, I saw that "greetings" floating right there and realized....oh, that's greetings. Derp..

Even with Mistreil giving the solution I still don't understand how these puzzles work, do you unscramble these, removed letters, swap letters, or? I've never seen a puzzle like this before I don't get it lol

It's a cryptogram. You can google for tips to solve cryptograms, but it's basically letter substitution. Takes me a while to solve them, lol.

I always start with the single letter words (those have to be I or A). I wish I would have seen the "greetings" hint earlier. Then I could have gone through and subbed in those letters and finished earlier. Oops. Live and learn, lol...

It's 'letter by letter substitutions': for instance, RIUUOFARH = GREETINGS, means that we replace all the Rs with Gs, I with R, U with E, and so on.

If you do that for the original letters on the monolith, you can infer some of the other words. For instance: "FE LMZ'IU IUSWFAR" -> "IE LMZ'RE RESWING"

From this, you could try to guess what the remaining letter mappings are, such as guessing that E -> F for "IF" as the first word.

the way my entries for this were "remnantsofgrimoire", "grimoire", "grimoireremnants", and "remnants" before I realized the hint was to drop the *leading* letter of the or a and not drop the "a" in "remnantsofagrimoire"

I genuinely thought I was losing my mind and was at the point where I was gonna go through the entire message again to see if I messed up somewhere
