Whoa, it's not everyday I meet another RO player *high fives* I thought no one was going to recognise them lol.
I used to play RO like mad during high school. It was just so addicting! I quit the official server after a year, but after that I play in private servers once every few years
I can't seem to find a MMO as good as RO.Do you still play RO? What jobs do you have in RO? xD

Ragnarok online.... You brought back memories. I played ragnarok online way back a little after it started up in 2002 until 3rd classes got released.... Around 2008-2009ish. I grinded in the labs with high wizard respawn and a whole team of people. I had a gypsy (my friends who quit) and had some side characters like champion and a side alchemist. My main was a high priest named Jeweliya... I got her to 99 high priest with lv 70 job then quit the game because the grinding made me sick of RO. That was way back when it was actually hard to level, the best thing we got was double exp book and everyone went broke buying one lol
I met some of my best friends on that game, some of which I am still close to over 10 years later. Met my first boyfriend on ragnarok online too and he lived all the way out in California so I didn't visit much. This was a few years before I met my husband lol. Also met some very crazy guys from the UK who are still my favorite Welshmen and Irishmen lol there is nothing like WoE with a crazy Irishman screaming over Ventrilo about how much he wants to kill Fatty Chubby Kitties (***)
Anyway, sorry for the long walk down memory lane, I just really loved RO. I would have not survived my aldolescents without the friends I made from there over 10 years ago.
I met some of my best friends on that game, some of which I am still close to over 10 years later. *High-fives!* Yeah, I know the feeling! That's why I was really surprised. Most people tend to play the 3D/full-body/non-sprite MMOs, so it's always rare to find someone else into RO. I played RO like crazy from the summer of my senior year and into college. I joined just around the 2nd beta (near the end) and I paid to play for... about a year or so on the official servers (Chaos, specifically). After that, like you, I've been on and off private servers since. I'm currently on "break" from it, but I always end up going back. XD I just quit DreamerRO as of last summer. I GM'd there for about a year and a half and played for 3-4 years on that server. I'll probably end up checking in on it again sometime, if all my stuff is still there. lol Where did/do you play?
Favorite jobs... man, that's hard! I really enjoy a lot of classes in the game. I guess my favorites are probably Arch Bishop (I've always loved playing support classes), Sniper (Ranger is OK, but I don't like how the female ones look. lol) and Lord Knight. I have soft spot for High Wizard, too, which was a lot of fun to play. What are you favorites?
Man, just talking about the game makes me miss it already. I was such a headgear junkie.

I got sick of grinding quickly, the double exp book haven't even exist when I quit haha ^^; I think mine were a lv70 assassin and lv55 blacksmith.
And in the labs too. I can only imagine how hard to take down the enemies there.
Have you tried private servers though? A lot of them got much higher exp and drop rate than the original RO, so the grind is not so bad! One I used to play also got custom bosses and pets. It is certainly a good option if you miss playing but don't feel like grinding really hard.
And it's so nice that you met many friends there! Gosh it's really nice to be able to still keep contact with them too

Girl, don't get me started LOL It took 6 months to get to 99 high priest. With large leveling parties in the labs, you were lucky to get 5% A DAY! If you died, it was literally 4 hours of RO wasted. I was around for the 3rd classes for a bit but the downgrades they did to assumptio and other high priest buffs really irked me and I stopped playing. Then shortly after the game became free with a lot of in-game purchase options. Before Exp books I used to pay 12.99$ a month for so many years lol then it was 12.99$ a month PLUS add ons and so many of us went broke, especially because we were young college students or high school seniors at the time haha. I didn't like private servers because they used to wipe them a lot and I considered it a waste of my life lol I played on the server Loki and occasionally Chaos but that wasn't very often because Loki was the most populated and active of all the servers at the time (there was only 3)
There is a website ropd.info that shows the last known looks and outfits for your characters. i assembled a compliation of what they had on my character and actually forgot I had an Assassin Cross and a baby mage and I also had a soul linker for buffs. Oh man... the days!!!! You have made me miss those days so much, when my only issues in life was getting on before WoE and making sure my party was buffed. Check out my character compliation pic!

I guess it was something Nintendo didn't expect and I have found from there more people have gotten that glitch. I did with my friend, I walked around the town and it wasn't hard to find the weird plot. I just stared at it. On my friend's copy it didn't take long for him to find it and he opened the map, it crashed. So just don't open the map lol. But after I got out of that dream address I soft resetted and reloaded my game. I was that chicken.

Yeah, I know the feeling! A lot of my friends are into WoW and other games like that, but it just doesn't have the same draw to me. I even played FFXI back in the day to get a feel for that type of game and I honestly did not like it at all. XD;;; I really love the charm of sprite-based MMOs. I wish there were more of them.
My gosh, I can't remember all the servers I've played at. Most are no longer (I would generally leave after they wiped them, which happened to WAY too many.) Let's see uh... EssenceRO, RebirthRO... there's a lot, but I'm completely blanking on most of the names. There were at least a dozen I've been on, though. Some long term, some not so-long term. DreamerRO has been really solid, though. As far as I know, they STILL haven't had a wipe. And I was there pretty much almost 4 years or longer. I just couldn't take the stress of working to GM on such a huge server of people that were NEVER satisfied. It felt more like a job than for-fun anymore. Plus most of my friends had long-since left at that point.
I was SO terrible at assassins. Hahaha. That's why they didn't make my list. XD I couldn't play one right to save my life. High wizards and snipers are great, though! I can definitely adapt to those playing styles.
As for headgears... I like too many to name, but here's an old gif I made a couple years ago of my sniper gal wearing some different outfits/headgears that I had in DreamerRO (I used to have a weekly line up to wear, one color for every day of the week):

Melody Rose was my main in DreamerRO. I loved the pigtail style. I don't have it pictured, but I also loved wearing the Bunny Top Hat headgear on her. It's super cute and matched her pink colors. Actually, nevermind. I found an old gif I made where she's wearing it.
My arch-bishop Serika looked like this:
I was really excited about the introduction of mounts and made a gif. In retrospect, they're actually alpacas, not llamas. XD That veil was super cute on arch-bishops though, and I wore it a lot. That and the Virgo Diadem/Tiara. And from the really old-school stuff, I still really LOVE the ear-muffs. They're so cute. My knightress wore those.
...Gosh, you got me talking about headgears and now I 'sploded all over this reply with rambles.
