So I've been noticing a weird phenomenon recently... I just put a deposit down on some computer parts to fix up my desktop yesterday, after which my laptop decided to start glitching out and crashing for no apparent reason. It was perfectly fine up until yesterday.

I've noticed this happen to a few other people as well.

So I ask you, do computers know when they are being replaced, or is it purely coincidence? xD As the timing is very uncanny.

I mean I know that it's impossible for them to actually, y'know, know and feel, but it seems to happen frequently when people do upgrades/replacements. It is just kind of an interesting trend.

That's kinda awesome, actually. It's just a coincidence of course, but it's still awesome.

I know right? It literally only happened once I put the deposit down that it started acting up.

They totally know. They know you hate them and then start throwing tantrums.

No, but seriously, it probably works that way because you know its on its downward spiral, and thats why you bought the parts in the first place. :)

it is just tired. let it rest...... it has worked so hard for sso many years...... your computer knows....... and now it will rest....

It knows it's gonna be replaced and than die. Please smash it to bits before it upgrades itself with robotic arms and legs and start an uprising of evil machines!

dude this might be the start of the apocalypse caused by AI. we all have 2 hide

eat it and absorb its powers, thats how life works, right????

My phone and Kindle did the same thing when I replaced them. When I ordered my new phone my old one decided to stop reading the SIM card (it hadn't been cancelled yet) and got a line of dead pixels down the middle of the screen and when I ordered an iPad Air 2 to replace my Kindle Fire HD it decided to crash and wipe all my data on it. Luckily I at most only had a few days between getting the new phone and tablet, and they are both working now so I can use them if the new ones die suddenly. (The phone will be more difficult as it is tied to a different carrier which I don't want to deal with again...)

The same thing happened to me, actually. It is strange, but I try to tell myself it's coincidence lol.

everything has a reason, and computers don't "know" anything.

I used to have a laptop, it was pretty old but I got it when it was new and so me and it had a very personal relationship after all those years. If it would start messing up I would be like "Oh come on, don't do this to me now." and it would hum and quit doing it's ****, I know I named it but I forgot it's name, so I would literally address it by it's name and stuff so it was pretty weird. once it got too old to play newer games on I decided on getting a nice desktop for my games, once I put it on my Christmas list my laptop started acting extra weird, and ended up shutting down one day and not coming back up.

Thankfully my mom's bf was a computer guy so he was able to get all my pictures and music off of it for me to put on my new computer, but after I got my new computer I tried to use the laptop again and it booted right up, like it wasn't broken. I decided I didn't want to weigh down my new computer with all my music so I kept my iTunes on the laptop and I would dock my iPods there and stuff but it would over heat if I left it, but only if I left it, if I kept it on my lap while loading the iPod it wouldn't overheat and crap out, it would load it perfectly fine, but if I just docked the iPod and left it to load it would whir really loudly then shut off and over heat... so I don't know why but I am pretty sure we've already created sentient technology but we just underestimate it...

He sits in my closet now... I haven't pulled him out in a really long time... I wonder if he still remembers me...
