Took me about an hour with no prep. I enjoyed it and I'm glad it wasn't too long. I had fun doing the tasks and they ended before it became tedious.
my RNG was pretty good actually! found the crab easily. It seemed like they wanted us to not stress much over the event, and enjoy the holidays with our families.
Proof? The usually tough to find or at least rare items needed as special ingredients... I'm talking about the scallop, dungeoness crab, and barred knifejaw... -were incredibly easy to get. In fact all of these I managed to catch on my first or second tries. The game clearly stacked the RNG in our favor for today. Or maybe that was just me? Curious how RNG hunting went for others on Turkey Day!

With due respect the event itself was alright there was nothing wrong with it, but the thing I was expecting was that I hope there was more recopies to do. Even when I got all the ingredients I was just done afterwards. Don't misunderstand its not like I "hate" the event or anything but I was disappointed that there was no vegetables added that was speculated since a while ago. Also the thing they did with the diys I don't know its like they got lazy just gave it to all of us. I was hoping that if you traded fish with your villagers they would give you a DIY but all they did was just give me ingredients that I'm missing but its random each time. Its my opinion you are free to disgaree but thats just how I feel about it.I felt the time spent was worth the reward. Don't know what else you were expecting.

I’d say it has more do with you getting lucky than Nintendo wanting us to have a stress free holiday. I’ve been looking for the crab and barred knifejaw for over an hour now.It seemed like they wanted us to not stress much over the event, and enjoy the holidays with our families.

if you cant find them, go catch fish your villagers in houses want and they should give you themI’d say it has more do with you getting lucky than Nintendo wanting us to have a stress free holiday. I’ve been looking for the crab and barred knifejaw for over an hour now.
While it is for the purpose of getting the DIY items, I agree that this was bizarre and felt unnatural.my issue with the event was the secret ingredients bs. in NL, franklin either asked for it directly after you gave him the main ingredients or let you select it with them. (i forget which.) but here, for whatever ridiculous reason, you have to make the dish, go back to him with the secret ingredient(s), and then make the dish again and watch the same cutscene? why, exactly?
