My Honest Thoughts on the Turkey Day Event

Main player had fun helping the villagers with their fish requests. 2nd player did the Event and the random items were the same as the main player. The silver covers were missing and all the food was made.
Played on my 2nd island and all 3 players used the same random items. It would have been more fun with different random items.
Happy it was easier than ACNL but miss items like the sugar bags.

I actually liked that they gave us the DIYs as one lump package deal instead of handing them out one at a time for catching fish or whatever. It makes it way easier to keep track of them (because you don't have to) and not have to worry that I would miscount or grab an incomplete list from a guide or something and end up missing out.

Overall, this was my favorite holiday so far. The gameplay wasn't super repetitive like Halloween and Easter, and the furniture set is the best of the holiday rewards that are out at the moment. I played it kinda straight (how they intended you to, basically) where I did Franklin's 4 tasks, then I did villager tasks until they told me the secret ingredients, and it didn't take me too long. I'm personally excited to start making and putting up the Garden Stands everywhere, because I've been looking for something like that for a while 😂

I actually thought it was one of the best (if not the best) holidays in the game! The furniture Franklin gives is actually furniture I would use in my rooms (not like Halloween or Bunny Day), it was a long event and not something you could do on 20 min like the previous events and in general I felt the event pretty balanced. Yes, you can get the main items fastly by doing the first four recipes, and then, only if you want, you can keep helping him to get more items. That way it doesn't feel as bad for the people who can't play much as they have "completed" the event fastly while at the same time it gives more tasks for completionists. I hope Christmas event follow the same route!

It was ok I guess. I didn't have much time to play today so I was pretty stressed trying to finish it quickly. I didn't get to enjoy it as much as I might have otherwise.

I did absolutely no prep (because I was not aware that you could prep for this) so it took me a couple hours. But I like that. I don't want to have to spend the entire day doing the event and miss irl Thanksgiving ;). Though some of that time was because I missed, like, all of October, and thus pumpkins. I had to get all 4 colors from my villagers. It was fine though. I liked helping my villagers with their cooking endeavors, though it's strange how almost all of their dishes had seaweed and horse mackerel as main ingredients ;). I do wish there was a cutscene where you actually get to eat the food you make. That would have been so cute and a great way to finish the event.

I LOVE that Franklin gives you the crafting recipes for the ENTIRE furniture set, so I don't have to worry about the pieces I didn't get. And I can get as many as I want.

Overall, I liked it. It was fun. It could have been better, but at least it wasn't close to another Bunny Day.

I thought Thanksgiving was very well done. One of the things I’ve realized is that I can’t afford to spend too much time playing on holidays due to family commitments and such, so I appreciated having a somewhat shorter event. I think it took me 1-2 hours or so, which was the perfect length for me. I also appreciated getting all of the DIYs at once at the end, and I think it’s great that the DIYs will be available at Nook’s Cranny as well for anyone who missed the event.

The Halloween event felt a little short, but again, I appreciated the fact that it left me with time to take photos with my villager and do other things. And being able to get recipes from my villagers rather than just from balloons really helped. By contrast, I’ve gotten really fed up with the balloon-based DIY events. I never seem to get any recipes without actively farming balloons, and I’ve spent at least 10 hours over the past week actively farming balloons every five minutes, and I still don’t have my last fall recipe yet. Turkey Day was a nice break from the randomness of the RNG-based balloon activities, and it was a little more involved than Halloween, but not too extensive, which I thought struck a good balance.

I personally really enjoyed the event. I finished it within a couple of hours. I love all the furniture items as well! They are items I could definitely see myself using all year round on my island. Especially since there is a spring option and a fall option for each item.

For me, it's one of the best events that ACNH has had. Giving it 10/10 :)

the event itself was somewhat underwhelming, but still cute. I logged on and spent some time gathering all the ingredients beforehand and just cooked through all the dishes quickly. I mainly just wanted to gather the exclusive items heh. Afterwards I just TTed to the next day to purchase the DIY package from Nook's :)

ngl I had my eyes on the garden stand and wanted to decorate with it so that was my motivation lol.

I liked the event but was expecting to see my villagers and rep eating the meal after even if we couldn’t control them and interact with the food ourselves. :/ But after we were done, no food was shown on any plates and no interaction available with the food; it was disappointing enough not to get the meals as a decorative item (at the very least). I also expected a little more involvement for my rep - more than just gathering items. I fortunately had enough items hoarded in my storage and was able to find what I didn’t have in my storage really quick so this was a quick event for me. This was only my second event that I’ve done and I think Halloween was more enjoyable and something I’d do again maybe even though I have all the diys. I don’t know if I will do this on my other characters or do this another year tbh; maybe for extra screenshots for my island journal. I admit I let myself get too excited for this event when I saw the datamined items.

I would have loved it if the four items you helped Franklin with became available as furniture items, but it's whatever. Maybe in the future. Events in this game seem minimal and it's probably because Nintendo would love for people who own this game to have time for these events since people are going to be over at a family members house celebrating or because people might be working on those days. I don't expect much from this game. I didn't expect much from the other ones, either. I'm just thankful for what I have.

I enjoyed myself! I never looked up an ingredient list for it and managed to finish the event in good time. I even did the event for all 3 characters! Although only until the Cornucopia for p2 and p3 cuz I didn't want to look for more Dungeness crabs or barred knifejaws. But I don't really mind not having all the DIYs for the other characters anyway.

But my one disappointment is that there were no cute little ingredients to get from the villagers, like sugar and flour, like there was in acnl. I adored those little items as decoration so I'm sad the villagers didn't give me anything special :(

I felt it stayed true to the original holidays from the other games and didn't stray (and if they did it wasn't far at all) They just made it less grindy with all the annoying stuff like vinegar bottles, flour, sugar ect. It just seemed more fun overall with the villagers in their cook uniforms. I liked how they handled Halloween to. Like how the villager's didn't just chase you and steal candy without you initiating a conversation. I would had preferred some of them wear spooky stuff like a ghost sheet instead of just cutesy costumes.

But overall it wasn't bunny week or wedding month. And that is what I am most grateful for.

I actually really liked this event. Even though it was a bit of a disappointment to not have more vegetables as the data miners had speculated, I'm personally okay with it. I loved how loyal the event was to the NL version while still adding extra details, new furniture (which is WAY better looking than the Harvest series), and that overall NH polish that I've enjoyed with most of the other events.

Sad that we don't get to cook or farm any new vegetables, but the event itself I found to be the sweet spot between the drawn-out wedding season and bunny day while still having more content than may day or nature day.

I'm sure there will be more vegetables/fruit later on that they will introduce. It seems like a missed opportunity just to stop at pumpkins. NL had corn as a furniture piece that was a row of like 3 or 4 corn stalks. Imagine them doing that for summer time.

I enjoyed it. It was short and sweet which I think is good considering it was a holiday celebrated on the actual holiday in real life...so I think it works out best for people that have a lot of obligations in real life to keep it short in game.
It would be different if it was an event spread over time, but it being a one day limit...it would be unfortunate to pack it full of a lot of requirements.

I like that it incorporated aspects of different activities (diving, fishing, gathering) and I didn't really feel like the time it took (other than the dungeoness crab) was unreasonable. Most the items were common to be found (sea bass, mushrooms, etc). It was also nice they had a system (neighbors) in case you got rid of pumpkins and etc.

I've barely been able to play but I was so lucky to have free time today so I hopped on and enjoyed it a lot!
Since I've been so busy I didn't prepare (or even know it was possible) so it took me about 2 hours to do everything, and I enjoyed the ambience a lot

I actually really enjoyed it! It was my first New Horizons event since I was on a hiatus when the others occured.
It was really fun and I loved seeing my villagers gather around and enjoy themselves! They were also very cute when cooking.
I even went as far as to get all the secret ingredients! It was really cool.
I'm just lucky I had a friend who could help me with the pumpkins since I skipped halloween and pretty much fall all together lol.

It took way too long for me for some reason, I think I was just extremely unlucky because it took forever to find some of the ingredients I think it took me about 3 hours because I couldn’t get a Dungeness crab. I was finally given one by punchy when his cooking task started over again. Otherwise I enjoyed it. The furniture is cute, but I’m not sure if I’ll be able to use any of it. I thought it was really cute how the villagers were dressed in chefs outfits. Renee looks so adorable in it

I really liked the event. It took me over an hour to complete, although not much more than that, and that was perfectly good by me. Were the tasks done? Yes. Did that mean that there was nothing else to do? Nah. I could have spent more time running around my island, catching things for the hell of it, maybe getting some stuff together or starting on another area of my island. But overall, I thought that the event was actually really good. Halloween is my favorite holiday, and I would say that the game's event for that was more disappointing, only because it only took me like thirty minutes to complete everything. But again, the spirit of the holiday was still there, and playing during these times really puts a smile on my face.
