My first time island hopping! But not looking for anyone in particular 😉

........No really, not looking for anyone in particular! I'm doing this for 50% fun, 50% testing my luck!

I mean, sure, there's the whole Raymond craze going on right now, but if I see him, I'll just wave goodbye and move on. Nothing personal, office kitty!

I'm staring into Lucky's soul (soulless?) this very moment. This is my 8th ticket so far.

But man, I found Drago and THAT was suuuuper tempting! passed on him, though. I'm mainly interested in a normal villager. Maybe Carrie or Lily...... Carrie because I have Walt, Lily because I have Henry ❤❤❤❤❤

How's everyone's island hopping adventures/nightmares going so far? I'm curious to know!

I'm far too lazy and easily impressed to go serious island-hopping. Just yesterday my glitched Penelope house was gone, so I went ahead and hopped to an island to see what I would get, expecting to move to a few islands before settling on someone (preferably a cranky).

First island, I got Marina. I mean I can't pass her up, I love her so much. I love every villager so much but Marina's just an obvious cutie, y'know?

However, Alice is moving out within the next two days, so I'll have another chance to island hop. Cross my fingers I'm not so impulsive, maybe instead I'll shop around for someone brand new or extra interesting, or get lucky with someone like Judy or Rooney who I really love.

Sprinkle is definitely a cutie, congrats! Also, Dobie is pretty popular. Very popular, actually I find him to be all right myself.

Same here. I had a plot open so went island hopping, hoping for a different species/color. I have too many yellows/blues, so was hoping for gray/white/green. I was hoping to get a deer/wolf/cat - I really love Kabuki, so was hoping for him, but I like all kinds of villagers.

1. got Cashmere. Already have Curlos, whom I am trying to evict, so no.
2. Boyd. He was so cute. I was looking for a gorilla, but he was brown/yellow in color, and I already have a great cranky villager. He was really tempting.
3. I got Zucker. There is so much fuss about him online! I think every one online has an Octopus villager. And I was gonna get murderous if another one posts pictures of Marina. But I saw him and fell in love. He's a takoyaki - my favorite food from Japan. And he was wearing a matsuri outfit - that brought me back to happy summer days. I had to get him.

So this trip was successful. I actually wanted to go to more island and get furniture and look at villagers, but that's over. I'm actually missing island hopping and looking for different villagers just for fun, but that is not to be. I think people who island hop for a specific villager are gonna be so stressed out. On the other hand, I am open to all kinds of villagers, so these trips have always been fun.

It really is fun though! I didn't think it be this exciting I know the feeling of temptation all too well. Had to pass on Drago and Shep because I'm searching for a girl villager. If only you could have 12 villagers max! Why Nintendo why?!?!?

I don't particularly care for Kabuki, but I knew he has a good amount of fans out there and I needed a cranky anyways so I invited him. Not bad for 4 tickets. Once he has had his full of Inkwell life, I'll be giving him away to one of his fans. That's the thing with not caring much or having a specific villager as a goal. You can pick up someone's dreamy by chance, and can gladly give them up to those users when it's time. ^^

I mean I do have one dreamy missing, Muffy, but she can wait. She's pretty common in the trading scene I think, because she's so many people's starters. I can also patiently wait and gamble with NMT for her as well.

i used up over 50 nmt just for the thrill of the random encounters (kinda like hunting shiny pokemon) and while i didn't get a villager that i wanted to permanently stay on my island, these are some of the villagers i met:

- octavian three times, yet no zucker
- ozzie three times. as well
- vivian was within the first five encounters. she is cute but i had to pass
- i actually did want beau to join my island, went through the dialogue and everything, but i felt like i might have just missed out on getting a dreamy, so i exited and when i came back i was still able to ask other villagers to move in
- roald (i didn't know he was pretty popular)
- tia
- apollo
- carmen would be a favourite of mine but i'd rather have chrissy as a peppy rabbit

That's the way to island hop! The chances of encountering a specific villager are so dismally low that if you go in with one in mind you're setting yourself up for disappointment or burn out. Islands are best when you're just going in without expectations. That's what I did in my game today.

I just hop until I find someone I like rather than searching for anyone specific. It's gone well I've found someone cool within 3-4 tickets each time, e.g. Sherb, Wolfgang.

Been island hopping all day and I resisted temptation ignoring plenty of good villagers but none of my faves but now I'm on an island with Sherb and I'm so conflicted. I was thinking of scanning in Punchy card eventually for my lazy villager (I actually met him on an island but continued on my way since I own him lol)

I love island hopping without anyone in mind! I have dreamies but I’m in no hurry to get them, so I just pick up anyone who seems cool.

I got Pietro on my second ticket the other day, I hate clowns but he seemed like a sweetie so I invited him, and he's absolutely great!

My only problem is that I love lazy and smug villagers so much I could end up with an island of just them if I'm not careful...

I used 22 NMT since the beginning of the game !

The first time I did Island hopping to find my first 3 villagers (just after the 2 starters), I came across :
- Beau, Lazy : I found him very cute but was aiming for Zucker and passed...
- Gayle (twice), Normal : Don't appeal to me and still seen her twice, but maybe because the second time I've seen her I already accepted a Lazy and a Peppy and the game only gave me Normal villagers...
- Flora, Peppy : Accepted her right away, the fact that she's a flamingo made her quite unique, I had a crush.
- Tucker, Lazy : Same as Flora, I thought he was unique and very cute so I took him anyway.
- Annalisa, Normal : I hesitated
- Barold, Normal : lol no
- Nana (twice), Normal : Same as Gayle
- Vesta, Normal : I hesitated
- Caroline, Normal : Liked her color scheme and didn't had more tickets so I took her.

Second time Island hopping (just after the first campsider moved in)
- Fauna, Normal : already have Deirdre as my cute deer and I love her and I don't want any normal beside Coco
- Anchovy, Lazy : No, and the only Lazy I want now is Zucker
- Cally, Normal : I was like, STOP GIVING ME NORMAL
- Pierce, Jock : This game don't want me to have any Cranky or Snooty ?
- Judy, Snooty : I considered since she's Snooty and new but her eyes creep me out lol and she's a little too much for me in terms of design, not my cup of tea...
- Quillson, Smug : And ugly.
- Paolo, Lazy : Liked his simple design but already have a Lazy Elephant (Tucker), give me Cyd instead please :°(
- Ozzie, Lazy : ...
- Tank, Jock : ...
- Audie, Peppy : Took her immediately even if I love Flora as my Peppy I couldn't resist Audie, she was the one I was aiming for as my Peppy before playing the game.

So yeah I got some hate because I had the opportunity to have Beau, Raymond (he's my campsite first visitor), Fauna, Judy and Audie, but I really want Zucker, Kabuki, Cyd, Tiffany and Coco and I don't now why the game don't give me Cranky and Snooty characters on Mystery Islands (except Judy).
For now I'm buying some NMT to go back on island tomorrow or the day after

I did the same as you yesterday, my first island hopping but I wasn't looking for anyone in particular, just someone cute that was either snooty or smug. And after 22 NMT, i found MARSHAL!!!! It was totally unexpected and I am so happy of having found him

That's exactly how I island-hop! It hits the gambling pleasure centers of the brain juuuust right, lol. I've seen Marina SO MANY times, but I, uh, don't care for the octopus model. I'm looking forward to whenever Zucker leaves, I'm gonna give him away.

I've seen and passed up on Sherb, Judy, Drago... Regretted skipping Bam the other day, as I will eventually need to choose a jock even if I don't like it and he's at least visually cool, but I came across Dierdre on tarantula island, so at least I found someone eventually.
