My Figure Won't Scan

This is probably the wrong place for this, but i'm trying to scan an amiibo figure and it just won't scan. Please help!

Do you have the old or new 3ds? And what figure are you trying to scan?

I have the old 3ds xl and i'm trying to scan Celeste. I don't understand, I have the nfc reader pointed the right way and it's turned on.

When I scan my cards on the reader, I usually will kind of move the ds around until the blue light on the reader blinks. If I keep the ds still, sometimes it won't read it. It seems to be picky with angles, so just try that and see if it works!
