moving villagers out

i've been time traveling to try and get any one of my villagers to move out for quite awhile now using intervals anywhere from a day to a month, and yet i haven't managed to catch a single one of my villagers with the thought bubble that indicates any of them wanting to leave yet. i did have one villager try to leave when i first started playing the game though, so i know it's possible for them to want to do that. it's a bit frustrating though to not have it happen again, especially when i've been ignoring some of these villagers since they've moved in. has anyone else had this problem?

me!! i don't know if i'm just unlucky :c only had a villager try to move out once! first to ask was fang and then i tried to reset/tt to get the bubble to go to cookie instead. it never went to her just tammy (eventually let her go that one time) and then after that i never saw the bubble again lol (i see them thinking a lot outside - same bubble but they just end up giving me clothes and the one other time that dobie made me go on a treasure hunt....)

i wish it would finally work for me though cause while amiibo's kick out/move in is nice i wanna use up my nmt to go island hopping for the new villagers u_u

I use the 15 days method and it's been quite consistent. So you TT 15 days forward from present day (making sure it's not an event day so skip Saturdays) and look around your island for someone with a thought bubble. If it is someone you want to keep, don't speak to them just save and quit, TT another 15 days (again skipping Saturdays). Best time of the day is between 12 and 3pm where most villagers will be outside. Rinse and repeat. The villager you're trying to kick cannot be the most recent move-in. I also have sooo many NMT left and am thinking about opening a slot to go island hopping because I have the villager's amiibo.

ive been doing the same method, but instead i time travel 15 days forward, if theres no one i want with the thought bubble/ no thought bubble at all, i time travel back to my starting point and then time travel 15 days again! works like a charm imo, tho ofcourse its hard to get the villager i want to leave with the bubble uugggh

Quick question: since we know that the move-out bubble transfers each day if you don’t talk to the villager who wants to move, why is it necessary to keep TTing 15 days even after you get a move-out bubble to appear? Couldn’t you just go forward one day at that point? Or does the huge time jump ensure that the thought bubble appears right away instead of waiting until a few hours into gameplay to appear?

Correct! You can go one day at a time. That’s how I do it. I jump forward 15 days and then go day by day until I find a villager bubbling to move out. If it’s someone I want out then great! If not I’ll continue to go day by day until the bubble transfers to someone I want out.

The villager you're trying to kick cannot be the most recent move-in.

hey, thanks for all your replies. i've been trying the 15 day method, but it seems like the moving out bubble still hasn't been popping up for me i guess i'll keep trying at it for a bit though, thanks again. if anyone has any other suggestions, i'd love to know.
