So, I booted up my town today, and to my surprise, Cheri pinged me and asked me to move out. It wasn't a big deal, as Cheri was a villager that I wanted to cycle out and someone was ready to take her. However, I found it weird, since I only had eight villagers. I thought villagers only pinged to move out after you had nine? Am I wrong? I do very minimal TT on this town, so I don't think that would be the issue.

that is very odd if you have 8 villagers then someone should plot the next day, so maybe you will have a new villager tomorrow

I think I've had an 8th villager move out before, but a new villager moved in pretty much instantly. It could be that a villager is already set to move in
That’s very strange. As far as I was aware villagers would only ping to move out if you had above eight villagers in your town. As far as I was aware, villagers couldn’t ping you to move out if you had eight or less.
Are you sure the 9th villager plot isn't in town already and you just missed it? Because the roped plot counts as a villager, so you'd have 9 and someone can move out.
Sprinkle's plot appeared the day after Cheri asked to move out. I remember that because she plotted right beside my house.
